To reach out simply means to offer assistance, while humanitarian services are activities done by human to help others in need or suffering in their different needs and suffering. There are different international and local humanitarian non-governmental organizations with the sole aim of relieving individuals suffering from different infirmities in the world.
Reaching out to people in need has always been part of me, the world is filled with suffering and poor people who can’t afford to eat every day, have a nice shelter to rest, go to school or even have good clothes to put on. Growing up with my mother has taught me a lot about giving to the poor and needy, although my mother didn’t have much, she tends to always give to those in need. She won’t see you hungry without giving you food to eat or see you in dear need without trying so much to help you out of that need. She had this philosophy that everything is given to you by God, not just for you to use selfishly but also to share with others in need of that which God has gifted you with. And by doing that, you are doing the work of God, by letting Him use you for his service.
When we were younger, whenever my mother was going to cook for the family, she always made sure that she cooked more than what we would consume so she could help those without what to eat. Certain people living around us then who were not part of our family or living with us will always have a share of the meal she cooked for the house, It was strange to me how different she was in comparison to other people living around us, so I asked her why she does that all the time. Her response to me was there is a blessing in giving, that givers never lack, that God always gives more to people who are cheerful givers, people who give to those who have nothing to offer them, and that giving without expecting in return was all that God wants from you.

I have lived each day of my life with her philosophy of life, people usually wonder why I love giving so much, well above is the reason. Growing up with my mother cultivated a strong desire to help people in need in the little way that I can, as my neighbor once said, we came to this world with nothing and will go back with nothing, sharing the little you have with another will not to stop you from living your life as you want it but rather will attract so much blessings to you. Being a cheerful giver has only blessed me with more rather than making me have less. I tend not to lack my basic needs not because of anything but I believe because of how freely and generously I try to give and help people close to me in deer need.
There is this song I live my life on which I learned while I was still in the children’s Sunday school; “for God loves a person, who gives cheerfully, who gives without expecting anything, who gives wholeheartedly, that is what I believe.
