During this holiday season, going to the beach was quite complicated because between the rainy days and sick family members at home, it was impossible to go during the entire month of December. However, yesterday, taking advantage of the fact that it was Matías' birthday, we decided to go to the beach, specifically to Playa El Agua, which has been my children's favorite lately.
My idea was to go in the morning so they could enjoy it a little longer, but Matías preferred to go in the afternoon, and since it was his birthday, we decided to leave it for the afternoon. Between lunch and everything else, we ended up leaving a little before 3:00 p.m., which wasn't a bad time because they would have until around 6:00 p.m. But we didn't count on the weather being sooo cold.
The beach was really beautiful, with a clear sky and bright sunshine, but the breeze was another matter. It was quite cold, and the water was freezing, so much so that my brave little ones didn't really feel like going in.
Since we had just finished lunch, we decided to play Scrabble for a while to rest a bit, and when they finally got excited, they jumped into the sea, which was intermittent, since they came out every few minutes with purple lips, shivering from the cold, and before 5:00 p.m., they were all out, totally refusing to go back in.
For my part, I took the opportunity to disconnect, take a deep breath, put my cell phone aside, and breathe in the peace that you always feel in front of the sea, but seriously, it was so cold that even though I didn't even touch the water, it was freezing, so when they asked to go home, I didn't think twice. It was a fleeting visit, but well spent!
