I have been a Leofinance community member since my very first days on Hive which is more than six months now. I have seen how this niche community has transformed itself from a rookie second layer community on Hive to a flag-bearer of innovation. Launching of WLEO and regular updates on the platform has made this community the number one community of all :)
Khal and the team have been very productive and they have pushed many project updates in the recent past. The team has listened to the community and have made changes if the ideas are good.
Keeping up with that tradition, I would like to share some points which I think would probably help other community members in accessing Leofinance as a user-friendly reading, blogging and sharing platform.
1. Bookmarking
The one thing I desperately need on Leofinance is the ability to bookmark or save the article I read. There are certain articles - for e.g. a basic guide on Thorchain or a Leofinance roadmap- which I would like to save to read again and again whenever I like. I don't think there is any functionality at the moment that allows us to save that article. The only way to do it now is to bookmark that specific webpage on my browser.
It would be helpful to have that functionality. I am not comparing Leofinance with Publish0X but they do have that function and it is super easy to store/save articles you like.
2. Notification
I have published a post very early when I joined Hive where I mentioned my lust for notifications. It would be really easy if we have Peakd style notification on Leofinance. That will help users like me a lot. Right now, if you are using Leofinance UI, you could miss comments and replies. Notifying users on comments and replies would be a really helpful tool.
3. Post Categories
Not comparing but, Publish0X has the flashy category system that would attract readers. Leofinance does have the categories but it could be any categories users include in their post. For example, one of the most used topics on Leofinance is POSH which is not useful at all for readers.
We need an edited category section where we can actually follow articles with niche information. High level categorization based on popular coins (BTC, ETH etc), or crypto spaces (Defi, crypto news). It will be helpful to use images instead of tag words in the categorization banner on the front page.
I know it is easy to say what we want on the platform and it will take time for the team to prioritize their project updates. I am putting these ideas out here because Leofinance is always responding to members' suggestions and concerns. Hope this will help in onboarding more users and in making the use of UI more fluid for all.
