Malaria and typhoid are two of the most common illnesses in the world. In fact growing up, the only sickness I grew up to know was Malaria. Well maybe because one constantly experience headache and which the causes is always traced back to mosquitoes back then which has the root in Malaria. In fact there was a time I thought Malaria is the most dangerous sickness in the whole world.
Don't get me wrong, all sickness are dangerous to the health state or wellbeing but what I am trying to say is seeing it from another perspective of the severity negative effect they caused to the body. One similarities that exist between Malaria and typhoid is they are both caused by bacteria but they have different symptoms, treatment and prevention methods. In as much as they are caused by bacteria, let me break it down a bit. Malaria and typhoid are both illnesses that are spread by a bacterial infection. Malaria is caused by the parasite, Plasmodium, and typhoid is caused by the bacteria Salmonella.
In fact there was a time I usually thought both Malaria and typhoid is the same. It get difficult for me to distinguish the differences that exist between both. But as time goes on, well I discovered they are different even though they are caused by the same reason I mean bacteria.
Malaria is a life-threatening illness caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes. Also Malaria on its side causes fever, headache, chills, and vomiting. It can also cause seizures and coma in severe cases. Symptoms usually appear 10-15 days after being infected but they can appear sooner if the person has been bitten multiple times or has an immune system weakened by other illnesses or medications.
If you live in an area where by the hygiene level is low, this create room for bacteria and parasite like mosquitoes to dwell and breed in the environment thereby leading to high probability of having Malaria through the bite of those mosquitoes. Malaria is caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito and Typhoid fever is caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi.
Typhoid fever is an acute bacterial infection that infects people who eat food or drink water that has been contaminated with the feces of an infected person. Typhoid fever causes fever, headache, weakness, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea. It also causes rose colored spots on body parts that are exposed to sunlight (a condition called rose spots).
Treatment for malaria includes taking medication to kill the parasites that cause it or taking antibiotics to treat the symptoms of it. Typhoid can be treated with antibiotics as well as fluids to prevent dehydration. Prevention methods for both illnesses involve getting vaccinated against them or practicing safe hygiene habits such as washing hands with soap after using the bathroom or before eating food.
The health system in countries like India has a lot of problems with their health system which makes it difficult for them to provide proper treatment for these two illnesses because they don't have enough medical staff or facilities available to them which means that there is less prevention for these two illnesses in India than there is in other countries
Both Malaria and Typhoid fever are common diseases but they have different causes, symptoms, treatments, prevention, and health systems. Malaria can be prevented by using insecticide-treated bed nets. The treatment for malaria is usually a combination of drugs for both the disease itself and for any potential complications that may arise. Typhoid fever can be prevented with vaccines, good personal hygiene practices such as hand washing with soap and clean water, safe food handling practices, avoiding raw or undercooked meats or eggs, drinking only bottled water or boiled water from a reliable source. Treatment for typhoid fever includes antibiotics.
Malaria can be prevented by taking anti-malarial drugs and using insect repellent to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. Typhoid fever can be treated with antibiotics and drinking lots of fluids. It can also be prevented by washing your hands often and avoiding contaminated food or water sources.
Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease that is caused by eukaryotic protists of the genus "Plasmodium" and transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito. The parasites are transmitted from person to person via the bites of infected female mosquitoes. Typhoid fever, also known simply as typhoid, is a bacterial infection due to "Salmonella enterica" serovar "Typhi". Typhoid fever can be life-threatening and requires prompt treatment. Symptoms may include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea. In rare cases complications may develop such as intestinal perforation or meningitis. Typhoid fever is an infection that causes diarrhoea, abdominal pain, weakness and a high temperature. It is caused by bacteria called "Salmonella typhi" which spreads in contaminated food and water or through contact with infected people who have poor hygiene practices. Typhoid fever can be treated with antibiotics but it can be fatal if left untreated
