21 is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Adele, and was released on 24 January 2011 in Europe by XL Recordings and on 22 February 2011 in North America by Columbia Records. The recording of the songs in the album started in 2009 and Adele was 21 years old at that time, so the name of the album was determined as 21. Adele's first album was called 19, which also took its name from Adele's age at the time. 21 shares the Motown/soul influences of her 2008 debut album 19, but also the album explores themes of heartbreak, healing, introspection and forgiveness. Additionally, Adele collaborated with various songwriters and producers, including Columbia Records co-president at the time Rick Rubin, Ryan Tedder, Paul Epworth, Jim Abbiss, and Dan Wilson.

It is the best-selling album of the 21st century in the UK, the fourth best-selling album in the UK and one of the best-selling albums of all time, as well as the longest-running album by a female solo artist, with a 23 week stay at the top of the UK Albums Chart. It is the best-performing Billboard 200 album of all time in the United States, holding the top position for 24 weeks, as well as the longest album by a female solo artist in Billboard 200 history. It was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting sales of more than 10 million copies in the United States.

The 21 Album topped record charts in over 30 countries and was the best-selling album of the year globally in both 2011 and 2012. "21" has sold more than 31 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling album of the 21st century and currently the 16th best-selling album of all time.

Praised for its understated production, vintage aesthetic, and Adele's vocal performance, the album "21" was nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize and won the 2012 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and the Brit Award for British Album of the Year. It is also among Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and is included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

There are great songs in the "21" Album, I can say that I generally liked Adele's vocal performance very much. If I had to choose one song on the album, I would say Rolling in the Deep. Rolling in the Deep is truly a great work, despite the downtempo vocals, the music conveys pure exuberance. Even after 12 years, this song still gives me goosebumps.
