Off the Wall is the fifth studio album by American singer Michael Jackson. The album was released on August 10, 1979 by Epic Records. The album was produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson. Off the Wall consists of disco, pop, funk, R&B, soft rock and Broadway ballads, and its Lyrical themes include escapism, liberation, loneliness, hedonism and romance. The album was recorded between December 4, 1978 and June 3, 1979.

Off the Wall was a major commercial success and became one of the best-selling albums of all time, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. Off the Wall peaked at number three on the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart and number one on the Top Black Albums chart, remaining at number one for 16 weeks. Five singles were released from the album. "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his first solo number-one single in the United States. "Rock with You" also topped the chart. Additionally, "Off the Wall" and "She's Out of My Life" also reached the top 10 in the US, making Michael Jackson the first solo artist to have four singles from the same album reach the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was certified 9x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the US on February 2, 2021. Additionally, it was nominated for two Grammy Awards at the 1980 Grammy Awards, with Michael Jackson winning Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male for the song "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough". There are great songs in the Off the Wall album such as "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough", "Rock with You", "Off the Wall" and "She's Out of My Life". Frankly, it is difficult to name a single name that I would call my favorite, but I can say that I liked the album in general. Off the Wall is a landmark release of the disco era, and along with Michael Jackson's next album, Thriller (1982), among the greatest albums in history. I like Michael Jackson's albums in general, but I think "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" are Michael Jackson's best albums.

My favorite songs from the Off the Wall album are "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock With You". Both are truly wonderful works.

Michael Jackson - Rock With You

Michael Jackson described the song "Rock With You" in an interview as follows: "So much uptempo dance music is threatening, but I liked the coaxing, the gentleness, taking a shy girl and letting her shed her fears rather than forcing them out of her". "Rock With You" is arguably the best and last hit of the classic disco era. And it remains one of the greatest seduction jams in Modern R&B. Additionally, this song inspired many artists. Usher said, "The song 'Rock With You' made me want to be an artist." It's truly a great work. Great works never get old.
