the lesson of the day from professer Bloom would be that my cat learns a bit the same as an A.I. would , and language is indeed limited since the invention of the written word would give less chance of actual telepathy (or the equivalent through empathy) developing as there's no need and body language is almost deprecated in the books they give you teaching. However it is still there, and the lack of being able to read it is imo a big source of violent conflict , or conflict tout court.
I recognize a seriously extensive and varied equivalent of vocabulary in my cat, and that's not where i think he talks to me, there's distinct difference in lenght, intonation, tremolo , pitch and what not in the maows alone, i never counted them but i think at least somewhere 20-50 depending on the situation or what he wants, combined with body language (cats have extensive body language) but also TIMING , the moments when , coming in or being inside the same sound might have a nuance, yet its always a direction to "want" or just a greeting, a certain emotion ? a "happy to see you" a "omg that weather outside /condition" , and i miss most of it since they communicate by smell as well, having a brain that's hardwired for movement, not colour but if i go out with him at night and i see him go from here to there, i imagine this amazing 3d trippy landscape full of pawprints and smellmarks, a whole map i cant see where the others tell him who was where . .
