Winter time in garden is quiet one. It is covered in snow and there is not much to do. Maybe to clean and move some snow from the trees. Our greenhouse is most active part of the garden. Inside we have green onions, lettuce and chard.
Some plants are newly planted, and others are to be planted later on.
Here in Bosnia this winter is cold and with snow. Not the case for the past several years where there was not that much snow.
As you can see outside is covered with snow.
Toward end of October the greenhouse was prepared and this green onions were planted.
They are doing quite well and already we can use them. Stems are nice and green.
Last week we picked first green onions.
Lettuce is planted between green onions.
This lettuce is planted as seedling and there are more seeds between green onions rows that are planted.
Third plant in the greenhouse is chard.
Healthy and very delicious in salad.
Green onions, lettuce and chard are in the middle of the green house. On the sides somewhere around middle of December more of green onions, lettuce and chard is planted.
You can see newly planted green onion. Later on here we will plant celery and parsley.
For now greenhouse looks good. There are new plants to be added. Also maybe we will add protective covers that will keep warmer.
Greenhouse is in the back garden and this is our front garden. Here are our fruit trees. It was snowing when I took the photos. It started to snow in the morning and we thought that maybe we will need to clean the snow from some trees. But it was not necessary. Snow stopped and as I could see no branches broke.
Here you can see how snow stays on branches and the branches bend. Some of the fruit trees are not that much durable when snow is on them so they can brake. If there is too much snow you should go out and clean the snow from the tree by some long stick or tool.
