In the recent few months we have seen that a lot of companies have moved out of the USA as well as Europe because of the regulatory struggle that companies had to face over there in recent times and also the loss suits that have been filed against major companies that we operating their meet the environment a lot more difficult for those companies to exist and also continue their operation because of which they continuously look for opportunities elsewhere in the world.
Since the fall of FTX which was a major cryptocurrency exchange the world has seen a lot of changes in terms of the cryptocurrency ecosystem as it has become a place that is under a lot more surveillance these days or at least has got a lot of attention because of which the authorities the cross the world are putting a lot of effort into making it a place which can be allotment safe and will have some rules that it has to be defined by.
In doing so countries like the USA have made it a lot more difficult for companies involved in the cryptocurrency business to completely operate their operations in the way they wish to because at the moment there is no perfect clarity upon the entire scenario and there is heavy uncertainty about the entire aspect of cryptocurrencies in the country regarding what is going to be considered as a security or what can be the rules that a company needs to be following for Digital assets there are a lot of things like these which are unclear and it becomes a lot more difficult for them to operate under these circumstances because they are filing louds based on these.
Amidst all of this south Asia has become the place where a lot of companies and businesses choose to get themselves involved in those places as in those specific countries the regulations are a bit more clear as well as something which can be done and also the approval process is something which can be done pretty easily and has a specific process that they need to be going through which is very systematic and a lot more clear then the United States or even the European market.
And if we talk about the specific pick that most of the businesses are making then it has to be Singapore as it has seen most of the businesses coming to its shore and setting up their operations over there. Singapore itself also noticed these things and made sure to make some specific changes in its regulations about digital assets to make it a lot easier for the companies to step in as well as make it a lot better for their Nation in terms of security.
The most recent example has to be Ripple which is a company based out of San Francisco, US but has all its business about 90% of its outside the United States they have entered the market of Singapore as well and they have also gained a payments license that is required to be operating in the country and also without any transaction thresholds.
Ripple has been granted the license by the MAS or the Monetary Authority of Singapore which will now make them eligible to offer digital payment token services in the country and that is quite hard to gain in Singapore as well because they have been very choosy and very much specific about their eligibility criteria to be operating in the country which is mostly directed towards the security.
One of the factors that MAS stresses quite a lot is that the license will be only granted to the cryptocurrency farms if they have a very robust antimony laundering system intact and also have the treasury which is going to be the biggest factor for them to be operating in the country and there is the reason why a lot of applicants who did apply to get the approval in Singapore did not get successful.
Overall it has been a very big pattern that the companies in the United States are leaving as well as looking for opportunities in South Asia not only Singapore countries like China and India have also gained a lot of business after the Miss that happened in the US of the collapse of big exchanges as well as the regulatory struggle which has led to an environmental which has made the businesses struggle to operate in the country and look for opportunities.
It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to look in a couple of years as the major cryptocurrency powerhouse which was the United States which had most of the business involved in itself is now looking to get itself diversified because of its regulatory struggle and a lot of other factors which are involved as well but regardless of all of that the market is now diversifying into South Asia which is a good news for sure because the market is getting divorce and spread across the world.
