The Royalty residency
This is the Queens' House. And most likely she is inside just checking on Instagram and Twitter who is outside taking photos and making videos of her place. Well at least this is one of the many houses that Royalty have.
In the Heart of London and just there for everyone and anyone to see it. It is wild to think that the Queen lives 5 minutes away from my last work place.
For many this is a once in a lifetime experience, people come to London on holidays and come visit this place just to see where the Royalty lives.
But for many of us this is just a normal thing in our life and we just walk by casually, the majority of the times, not even giving a second thought about the place and all the history that went by this place.
Obviously this area is kept pristine all year long, but in this time of the year the flowers really gain a new life and bring so much colour and beauty to this place that is incredible.
A quick walk from Trafalgar Square or Victoria, just between St James Park and Green Park, if you think about all the history, this is always a great place to visit.
The roundabout and statues in front of the Palace are getting refurbished so there are some scaffolding, covering them, but still you can see a little bit of the beauty they bring to the place.
Now every time I pass by this place all that I can think of is that it is not possible that this is just a normal building. I always think that behind this very sturdy brick walls there are some wild technology walls to defend this place. In the times we live in, this can't just be a normal building. Or can it?
There are a lot of pretty details and old works on the bars and entrances of the Palace. They really make the experience better.
Maybe this is because I am so used to the place and I don't have any memory of the first time I saw the Buckingham Palace but although it is a beautiful area and a nice building, I feel that is very underwhelming. We have all seen Palaces and Castles that are way prettier from the outside.
But we also know that on the inside this place must just be so glorious to look at.
The Statues and details
I wanted to share with you some of the details from the roundabout and also on the entrance of the Palace. I think that in my opinion all of them really contribute to the beauty of this area.
In a conversation with friends the other day we were talking about how the World is lacking of statues like this.
In the past this Statues were always so important and they were how people would literally celebrate and decorate everything. Why did we lost that tradition? Does anyone know?
You can just look around this area and keep looking for fun details on the buildings. Also if you are really into history I bet that with a quick Google Reverse image search you probably can find really interesting details about their history and the reasons to be there.
If you turn your back to the Palace, you won't be disappointed. The view it is as pretty as the Palace itself. I guess we know why the Royals have chosen this prime location. You can even see the London Eye, that is something more recent, but still looks pretty cool in the background.
The Palace
Here it is the whole building from a little closer and without any of the bars covering it. Try to find the Queen peaking behind the curtains, can you?
All the gold that is still in so many parts of the Palace probably would be enough to pay my rent for the rest of my life but let's not dwell on that matter. And instead lets enjoy it as a decoration in there
The Guard
Another of the reasons People come to the Buckingham Palace it is to see their guard in the traditional outfits and not only that but also the ceremony of the guard changing shifts.
If you want to check more official information about this event just check when all the changes happen on the Official Website
If you are not into busy places with a lot of tourists, maybe this is not the place for you to visit, since there are always a bunch of tourists around taking their selfies.
But if you don't mind with that and then also want to visit some of the coolest parks in London and also stay in central so you can literally go and access to everything and everywhere, by all means go for a quick stop by the Buckingham Place and try to spot the Queen.
As I said, for me as a Londoner I still Love this area, but definitely more for the parks around than the Palace itself. That I usually just walk by and don't even give it a second look. But it might be just me because I am so used to pass by so many times.
