The very source of over 100,000.
Awww man I really wanted to say it's over 9000 for the dragonball meme but I just couldn't get the math near the number. I ended up getting a number over 9000 though. So what exactly is over 100,000. Well, that's my estimated screen time for the whole year in minutes. I spend probably about 8 hours on average a day or more on my laptop and phone combined. To get this in minutes, you have to multiply 6x60x365 and the number you will get is 175,200.

I spend a lot of time on the screen as you can tell from the math. It's way more than the average person. I need to spend a lot of time due to the nature of my work and my interests. My work mostly involves using my laptop and outside of that I enjoy watching anime, playing videogames and of course writing here on Hive. Unfortunately, all of this is on the screen and the screen time just adds up.
When I've Had Enough
For me, my eyes tend to get tired after looking at the screen for long durations. To combat this when my eyes feel tired, I will lay down and rest my eyes for ten to fifteen minutes just to let my eyes rest. When it comes to night time, I will usually just go straight to sleep after my eyes feel tired. The thing I like about this is that I go directly to sleep; in most cases, I just knock out. I don't really like to waste time so I wouldn't want to be laying in my bed and overthinking about life and things happening.
Tips To Reduce Screen Time
Just sell your phone and laptop right now. I am just joking because nobody would do that. A lot of us probably couldn't live without our phone or laptop. On a serious note if your work involves using the screen, I think the only thing that can be done is just getting the work done as fast as you can. Once you're done with your work, then you can hopefully take your eyes off the screen.
Another thing that can be done is to limit the screen time. For example, if I was to limit my screen time I could play less video games or watch less anime and maybe limit it to one to two hours. Some other tips I would suggest are to find some other activities that don't involve being on the screen. Maybe you can go to the gym, exercise or play sports. Like last weekend, I played bowling with my cousin. We played like three games and my cousin wasn't playing too well so I won all three games. I also ended up getting my personal best of 150. I don't recall ever getting such a high score. You can see the picture below. This was the first game we played and you can see that I had a bad start with a double one. I was rusty since I didn't play for a few months.
Now for the final tip. I think this one will get people talking in the comments below. Go spend time with your significant other or your family. This might be your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend. You will for sure be off that screen because if not well you are probably going to get scolded or dumped. Honestly, I don't have a girlfriend yet but I'm sure when I get one she will lower my screen time.
I loved this topic for this week for Hive Learners. If you can't tell, I totally had fun writing it. I hope you all have a great weekend.
