Bitcoin Ordinals
- Bitcoin Ordinales are like NFTs on the Bitcoin blockchain. They are upsetting the balance of the blockchains and showing that bitcoin is more then just a store of value.
- I have collected numerous articles on Bitcoin Ordinals to create a mini encyclopedia of bitcoin ordinal information.

Bitcoin Maxi Upset About Ordinals
The transaction fees on Bitcoin are going up. A lot of this is due to ordinals. >It is interesting to watch the reaction of Bitcoin Maxis. Bitcoin is the most secure network. It is also decentralized. These are two things it has going for it. In this video I discuss how the maxis are upset at the lack of "quality" transactions that are clogging up the network. Isnt that interesting.
Bitcoin Ordinals by
Recently, one coin has been particularly noteworthy in terms of performance, and that coin is the Ordinals BRC-20 token, $ORDI. It has experienced a remarkable surge of 1200% since the beginning of November. However, questions arise about what precisely Ordinals are and how they are impacting the Bitcoin network, leading to a significant rise in fees.
Each satoshi, the smallest unit of Bitcoin, is assigned a unique serial number known as an "ordinal." Ordinals serve as identifiers, indicating the order in which satoshis were mined on the Bitcoin blockchain. The Ordinals protocol introduces a concept called "inscriptions."
Inscriptions involve embedding additional data directly into individual satoshis, effectively creating a narrative or digital signature.

Ordinals (ORDI): First BRC-20 Token and A Brief Intro to Ordinals Protocol by
Ordinals (ORDI) have been making price moves these recent days after getting listed on Binance and being mistakenly introduced as the Ordinals Protocol token when actually, it doesn't have any association with it. Per information, ORDI is a token without a team, an official website, or any presence on social media. ORDI is a BRC-20 token standard that was deployed on the Bitcoin network on the 8th of March 2023 and apparently, all 21 million of it were minted within 18 hours.

Ordinals and the Mempool Apocalypse by
Last week at the height of the Mempool's insane climb to some of the highest fees we've ever seen and a backlog of 400,000+ transactions, I wrote the following: I’ve been reluctantly building on Lightning because I saw big VC money going in and to ride those coat tails and pick up on what they built. The current fiasco with Ordinals has me doubting Lightning’s future entirely. I don’t see any ROI for VCs when channel openings and random closures will eat all possible profits and cost reductions. Without centralised services and huge nodes investing big BTC bucks, I don’t see any way this works. I don’t see what incentive Miners have to do anything different, they make bank on these fees. They don’t want stupid 1 sat/vb channel openings and at 100+ sat/vb I don’t see how Lightning is viable. Perhaps at some point this destroys Bitcoin completely, I don’t see how the original “best money ever” continues when moving it even via Lightning requires either a huge upfront investment or huge fees.

Ordinals: Bitcoin NFTs (Thoughts) by
So... now that the fuss has died down a little bit, I have had a bit of time to think and hear more about Ordinals (aka. NFTs on Bitcoin). For those who haven't heard the hype and shrillness from CryptoTwitter and those who know what they need to talk about to get the clicks... well, Ordinals is a way of implementing NFTs (data storage) on the Bitcoin blockchain, and it was enabled by Taproot fork that happened in 2022. Now, my first impression was similar to many of the more hardcore Bitcoiners... this is bad for Bitcoin. Clogged blockspace and well... I'm still not sold on the idea of NFTs as they stand, and when they are essentially making some sats even more non-fungible (sats already have a history which is technically non-fungible, but close enough) and people were exchanging multiple sats for... one sat? It did make me think, what is the purpose of this... Bitcoin will have lost its way with whatever it was being designed to be doing. Store of value, right?

Bitcoin NFTs: What are Ordinal NFTs and How They Function by
In today's world, no matter if anyone is into crypto or not, he must have heard about the terms like Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, bitcoin or NFTs etc. Bitcoin, the first-ever digital currency in the world of cryptocurrencies started the revolutionary path of peer-2-peer swap and recently also has expanded its wings into the realm of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). NFTs have already gained insane popularity as unique and non-decaying tokens which are representing digital assets like art and collectibles and provide proof of ownership that is verifiable on a certain blockchain. While Ethereum initially dominated the vast NFT space and produced many successful projects and NFTs, with more surprise Bitcoin has now joined the fray with the introduction of the Ordinals protocol into its blockchain. This protocol enables BTC to create Bitcoin NFTs by tracking and recognizing individual units of Bitcoin called satoshis aka SAT. With its robust infrastructure and widespread global adoption, Bitcoin's entry into the world of NFTs brings a new wave of possibilities for artists, collectors, gamers and of course real-world asset owners.

Recursive inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain | Ordinals of Bitcoin by
The development of ideas on a blockchain never ceases to amaze. In this case we will be talking about the Bitcoin blockchain, with a very interesting addition that we are going to review in the following lines.
El desarrollo de ideas sobre una blockchain no deja de sorprender. En este caso estaremos hablando de la blockchain de Bitcoin, con un añadido muy interesante del que vamos a repasar a continuación en las siguientes líneas.
Recently news was released that it is possible to create tunes using an On-Chain music engine over the Bitcoin network. For this purpose the Ord.io application allows the creation of Ordinals, not only limited to NFTs, as it is now possible to create audio tracks using a music engine called "Descent Into Darkness Music Engine".

The 4 Megabyte Bitcoin Block by
A couple day ago shockwaves were sent through the Bitcoin network. Some math ninjas initiated their magic, hijacked a Bitcoin block, and posted a huge NFT/advertisement to the Bitcoin blockchain at block-height #774628.

Fees on Bitcoin at All Time High | Data on Transaction, Hash, Fees | Dec 2023 by
2023 has been the year of inscription on Bitcoin. This was enabled by the Ordinals protocol that first appeared in January 2023, then had its first wave of adoption in March and again now in December 2023. It caused an increase in the number of transactions and activity on chain that increased the fees as well. The Ordinals protocol enables NFTs and tokens on Bitcoin. Bitcoin NFTs are represented by one satoshi. The smallest Bitcoin denominational unit on Bitcoin. Each satoshi is unique and has its number. The ordinals protocol is used to inscribe a text on the satoshi. This text can be used to generate a low-resolution image. After the Satoshi is inscribed with the text, then it can be transferred buy/sold as an NFT.

Exploring UniSat [Wallet & Website] by
The popularity of BRC-20 tokens and Bitcoin Ordinals (NFTs on the Bitcoin network) is increasing and that also means the need for compatible wallets that we can use to transact or store them. Enter UniSat Wallet, the first one that I came across not so long ago (November) when I was researching ORDI. Since I'm keen on learning further, I am giving it a closer look today by installing and using it myself.

There's no such thing as “spam” when it comes to decentralized blockchains by
What inspired this post was a cointelegraph.com article on Bitcoin Ordinals. It's not news that many pro bitcoiners call BRC-20 tokens spam to the Bitcoin network. But is this true? You simply cannot spam a network that was built to receive your junk in the first place.

Binance Launches Inscriptions Marketplace for BRC-20 Tokens: A Game-Changer for Bitcoin by
I have already talked extensively about Bitcoin's Ordinals, what are improperly classified as the NFTs of the Bitcoin blockchain.
As we know, this possibility has been sharply criticized by the community because it changes the prerogatives that the Satoshi Nakamoto team had imposed for the structure of BTC. Now, the evolution (or rather speculation) has gone as far as Binance, which is creating a marketplace for the exchange of these satoshi "tagged" metadata.

Ordinals and Inscriptions by
"Ordinals" and "Inscriptions" in the context of blockchain and cryptocurrency refer to specific concepts related to NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) and the way they are stored or recorded on a blockchain.

Teleport Bitcoin to EVM Chains by
Teleport is a bridge between Bitcoin and EVM chains such as Polygon and BNB Chain. The aim of the project is to enable Bitcoin transfers and trades of Bitcoin Ordinals, Inscriptions, and other NFTs to be traded on several Ethereum Virtual Machine ( EVM ) chains to be traded in stablecoins, as well.
Basically, this is a great opportunity to be a part of a Decentralized Exchange that will work for Bitcoin as well as an NFT platform that enables you trade Bitcoin NFTs and Inscriptions.

Scaling Bitcoin by
- This article is relevent because it addresses the topic of Bitcoin scaling, or capacity to adapt to increased usage of the bitcoin blockchain for other purposes then just buying and selling bitcoin, and transferring boitcoin around. Now that we have ordinals on bitcoin blockchain, a token type similar to NFTs on ethereum, scaling is a big topic of discusion and both excitement and anger, as it creates a new use case for the bitcoin blockchain. Which excites some as it brings new people into the bitcoin umbrella, but angers others because demand increases cost of bitcoin transactions. And raises the question of can bitcoin blockchain deal with this increased demand for blockspace, as in the space to record transactions on the ledger which is the bitcoin blockchain?
In the final chapter of the Internet of Money Antonopoulos provides a surprisingly relaxed account of how Bitcoin will overcome any scaling problems. In fact he's so relaxed, he uses a tongue-in-cheek analogy with how so many people said the internent wouldn't scale over the last 30 years!
