Description from Strava:
It has been a week since my last run, that was in Germany. Just after we returned my back was playing up, so I have rested it for a while. I felt better today and decided to try a run.
Whilst we were away there was some rain and so everything is looking very green. Our garden had flourished and we had lots of new plants in that needed it. It is due to get warm this week and so we are looking to get the pool up soon.
I did my usual run up to Fairfield, but was taking it fairly easy to see how I felt. I noticed a load of big logs by the stables. I assume that is to prevent people parking there. The road up the hill feels really wide since all the tree debris and other rubbish at the edges was cleared.
The felt pretty good really and I was able to keep up a steady pace. I would like to be a little quicker though. Strava has a new feature of estimating what you should be capable of. I would be happy to hit that 5k time as I have been about a minute slower than that at parkrun recently. I am not running much beyond 10k for now, but I may try stretching out some of my weekend runs again. I went through a phase of running monthly half marathons on my own a few years ago. It would be nice to be able to do that again. I saw a little of the London Marathon and still do not feel up to that, but well done those who did it.
