Hello to everyone in this community and craft lovers, especially collage enthusiasts! Since I started making physical collages to remember my outings and trips, I've had so much fun collecting materials and creating the collages themselves. I recently showed you my first memory collage while visiting my boyfriend, but I've been inspired to make others with what I've gathered more recently. This way of expressing ourselves not only allows us to have memories beyond photographs, but it also expands our creativity and helps our minds connect more deeply with those memories ✨
Before making the collage, as I mentioned, I collected the materials. Just pay attention and you'll realize that anything can work: a leaf or flower, a candy wrapper, or even the little sugar packets you get at a coffee shop. In this case, I collected materials during a couple of outings with my boyfriend, where I had coffee, frappes, ate cookies, and we even visited a fast-food place. I also used some leftover material from the previous collage.
The next step was choosing where to arrange the materials. There's no real rule for this part; it's all up to your imagination. I usually use school glue to stick the paper pieces together, but since I've been getting hold of plastic wrappers lately, I bought some cold silicone for that. It doesn't matter if the pieces are torn or ripped; it gives it a look that's more in keeping with the theme of the Junk Journal, which is specifically about recycling.
Since I had a small piece of yellow cardboard, I decided to cut out some hearts that I could use for decoration. We can do this process of cutting out simple shapes like hearts, stars, or flowers and keep them stored away.
I glued on the hearts, as well as the fast-food shapes I had cut out from a napkin. Since they were black and white, I decided to color them in with my markers. Finally, I glued on some words I had cut out from the same napkin, and the collage was finished! ✨
Now, just by looking at the piece, I can remember what each little piece belongs to, as well as the feelings I had that day. My boyfriend told me he really likes it when I collect these bits of material and even helps me cut them up, haha. All you have to do is always carry a notebook or something to put each piece in so it doesn't get damaged, and when you get home, you can see your "loot." It has definitely become one of my favorite activities, and I hope to continue doing it even when I return to the capital 😌

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de las manualidades, sobre todo de los collages! Desde que adopté la costumbre de elaborar collages físicos como forma de recordar mis salidas y paseos, me divierto mucho en la tarea de recolección de material, así como elaborando el collage físico. Hace poco, les mostré cómo quedó mi primer collage de recuerdo estando acá, de visita en casa de mi novio, pero me he animado a elaborar otros con lo que pude obtener más recientemente. Este modo de expresarse, no sólo nos permite tener un recuerdo más allá de las fotografías, sino que también, amplia nuestra creatividad y pone a nuestra mente a conectarse más profundamente con esos recuerdos ✨
Antes de hacer el collage como mencioné, estuve recolectando los materiales para hacerlo. Basta con poner atención y nos daremos cuenta de que cualquier cosa sirve: Una hoja o flor, el envoltorio de alguna golosina o hasta los paquetitos de azúcar que te entregan cuando vas a una cafetería. En éste caso, la recolección fue durante un par de salidas con mi novio, en donde tomé café, frappé, comí galletas, así como visitamos un sitio de comida rápida. También aproveché algo de material que me quedó del collage anterior.
Lo siguiente, fue escoger la ubicación de los materiales. En esta parte, no hay una regla como tal, todo queda a nuestra imaginación. Suelo utilizar pegamento escolar para pegar las piezas de papel, pero como últimamente estoy consiguiendo envoltorios de material plástico, compré un silicón frío para esos casos. No importa si nuestras piezas están rotas o rasgadas, eso le da un aspecto más acorde con la temática del Junk Journal, que tiene que ver específicamente con el reciclaje.
Aprovechando que tenía un trocito de cartón amarillo, se me ocurrió recortar algunos corazones que pudieran servirme para decorar. Podemos hacer este proceso de recortar figuras sencillas como corazones, estrellas o flores y tenerlas guardadas.
Pegué los corazones, así como las figuras sobre comida rápida que había recortado de una servilleta y como las mismas, estaban en blanco y negro, se me ocurrió pintarlas con mis marcadores. Finalmente, pegue algunas palabras que había recortado de la misma servilleta y el collage, estuvo listo ✨
Ahora, con sólo observar la pieza, puedo recordar a qué pertenece cada trocito, así como los sentimientos que tuve ese día, pues mi novio me comentó que le gusta mucho cuando recolecto esos trocitos de material y hasta me ayuda a recortarlos jaja Basta con llevar contigo siempre una libreta o algo en dónde puedas colocar cada trocito para que no se estropee y al llegar a casa, observas el "botín obtenido", sin duda, se ha vuelto una de mis actividades favoritas y espero continuar realizándola aún cuando retorne a la capital 😌
