It is a debt instrument that can be converted into an equity asset (LSTR). This is no different than a debt instrument that can be converted, at some point, to stock.

What is special here is that the instrument is perpetual. It does not expire. That means one can simply collect 15% APR forever while also enjoying upside move in the asset price.
