A cool ride

I came across this bike while walking arouund downtown in Milford a little while back, and thought it was really nicely done and had to get soem shots to shar ein a post.
This first one I went for a bit of an extreme edit, which I thought fitted the style of this bike.
Do you have a Motorcycle or have you ever had one and what types?
I was riding farm bikes on my Uncles farm since I was around 8 years old, and got my first bike when I got my license, but I always had trail bikes for on the road and to be able to take them off road and have fun.
About 19 Years old I also got a motocross bike, if I remember right it was CR 125 and I later got the CR 250, and I raced motocross on and off for about 6 years, I was OK but never that great, my bashed up bike could never compete with the top riders.
But I did one event against some of the top riders in NZ which was a blast and a bit of luck, I was in the Waiorue Army camp at the moment and active in the Motocross club, and one of the cadets had a brand new Honda 250, and it was too much for him, I coached him a bit and swapped bikes with him so he could learn on a less powerful bike for the start, after two weeks he was getting there and we swapped bikes back, and I thought no more of it.
A few weeks later I was at an event, on the first day I got clipped in the air on a jump, landed, crashed and one rider rode over me, I popped out my Knee Dislocated my shoulder and broke a few ribs.
My mates all though I was out for the weekend which was frustrating as it wasn't even a race was basically a warm up run.
Well common sense back then and even perhaps today was not always a strong point for me, so I popped my knee and shoulder back into joint with help of a medic, tapped up my shoulder, put on a knee brace, and bandaged up my chest, I didn't know at the time I had broken 4 ribs, I just knew they were hurting a little.
Well as I was finishing off taping up myself the Kid who I had been coaching came up to me and introduced me to his father, who happened to be the manager or owner of the Honda Racing Team, He thanked me for taking his boy under my wing and then took a look at my bike, whic=h was even more beat up than normal.
He said you can't race it like that and called over one of his mechanics, who took a quick look and said sure they could fix it but they didn't have the parts, but they would take it and fix it during the week.
I tried to say no that's fine I will do it myself and would not take no for an answer, and off my bike went into there truck.
I was thinking to myself, OK this is fate telling me I would be crazy to race with the injuries and was about to settle in and watch the races, when back came the mechanic, with one of their spare bikes.
So injuries be damned I was going to race, it took me a couple of laps to get used to the difference in performance, was was way at the back of the field by that time, I think also because I was taking it slow after the crash, but then I started to get the feel for the bike and started going for broke.
I made it up to 5th place in that race, one of my best finishes ever so I was on cloud nine and not feeling any pain, Well over the weekend I did great if I remember rightly there were seven races, I came first in two races, second in another and top five in all but two races.
I could barely walk by the last race, couldn't put any weight on my left leg, had about 5 pounds of medical and duck tape on my shoulder and ribs, and couldn't even lift the second place cup at the trophy ceremony, but boy was it worth it :)
Was such a let down going back to my old bike a week later, mind you, it was almost a new one they had replaced so much of it, was the best it ever was.
After this story and other accidents and injuries from racing I guess its no surprise my Ex and Current wife insist I never ever get a bike again LOL
WOW did I fly off on a tangent with that story, let me get back to the Bike in this post LOL

And another shot of the Motorcycle from a different angle, isnt it such a nice ride, I could see myself having a bike like this but my family, kind of insist I stick to four wheels, I am fairly sensible in a car, but they may well be right if I got on a Motorbike I may revert to 19 years old again.
