Some cool Indigenous People’s photos and Artur Day
Well I was slack with walking over the weekend and didn’t do enough steps to warrant an actifit post over the weekend but back with one today, but first
In a comment today I mentioned it was looking like we would have nice weather for Artur Day and he asked what Artur day was, which made me wonder who else hasn’t heard of it so let me quickly explain it here
Artur Day
It’s an ancient tradition going well back to the Medieval days when The Knights of the Round Table hosted a Jesting tournament on the First Saturday of the month in Honor of KIng Arthur the Winner of the tournament could then be considered for entry to the Knights of the Round Table, Now you may wonder how it came to be called Artur Day, well at the time there was a Master stone carver and calligrapher called Detrominus, and he was the one who would made the signs and banners for this event, and although his work was incredible he did suffer from a rare medical condition at the time, the illness was rare back then but is more common these days, but I digress, the illness as known then as Erraverium typosis and hence Artur day care to be a tradition
Or to put it another way that is me either making a typo or auto correct changing Saturday to Artur Day :)
sorry if you were thinking you were learning something knew but I had to share my little self set free write 😎
This morning it was a bit chilly just above freezing point which was a little bit of a shock to the system after the nicer days we have had recently, so I didn’t mind foregoing my Morning walk before heading tot he office, in a way it was good as I had an early VTC this morning so didn’t have time for a walk anyway.
But the day has warmed up a little and the sun is shining so I went on a little stroll before and after lunch today to get in my steps and at least hit my 10K weekday step goal, on the way to grab Lunch I walked past these cool photos on the fence of the United Nations on 1st Ave.
These Photos are art of a Photo Exhibit currently in the UN Building Visitors area, but they also have some copies not he fence outside, the Exhibition is called The World in Faces and features amazing photos of various Indigenous people from around the world
