Riverside Park South
For this evenings acifit post I share some photos taken with my iPhone These photos were taken on a walk this morning before work, I have a visit with my Vascular Doctor tomorrow after having a blockage and stents in my legs so I wanted to do over 4 Miles and 1oK steps in one walk and see how y legs coped with it and the good news is they coped pretty well.
So this morning I got into the city and took an S and 2 Subway trains up to 72nd Street and started my walk from there, I was heading to the South Side of Riverside Park which I had not been to before, so for those who say I know every inch of NYC thats not true but I am working on it.
I may have got a little carried away with phone photos I todays post, I normally take a bunch and pick a small few to share but I had trouble deciding which ones not to use in this post.
This first shot is as I was walking to the park,

Walking along that road I finally saw the park as shown int he next shot and now I just had to find a way to get down to it

A little further along the road I found an entrance and this path down into the park

You may have noticed in the shot looking frown into the Park the pier so I had to head to that first and here is a shot looking out into the pier, as you can see it was a little overcast and foggy this morning

After checking out the one Pier I continued on my walk along the pathways in the park, there were quite a few weeping willow trees along this walk

Sometimes in life andon morning walks you reach a point where you have to choose which way to go the high road or the low road, or in this case the left or right path, I went right in this case

And continuing on i came to this point in the park where there was a small bridge over the water and an interesting view, you may note there are some sort of cacti growing in the foreground a little viewpoint of to the left, and the structure the cacti are growing on and that square platform in the middle looked like at some stage there were some sort of foundation or road, I found this spot quite interesting.

But time was ticking on and I had not done a lot of steps by that time so I kept walking, it if you wanted a break walking there, there was like in most NYC parks plenty of benches along the way.

And another area in the park that I passed through with a sculpture that looked like a big bottle is shown in this next shot, it was quite interesting and I took some shots of it with my camera for a future post.

I did walk from the park back tot he office and did about 4.5 Miles and over 10K steps as the screen shot elbow shows so I can use the Automatic Win tag with todays actifit post.
