Protect the planet and random shots walking to work

For this evenings acifit post I share some photos taken with my iPhone, The first couple of shots are of a new temporary piece by the visitors entrance tot he UN buildings and the rest are shots of things I saw while walking to work this morning, which was a short walk, with the days getting shorter and it being overcast today I didn't go for my normal longer stroll before work plus because I had early meetings and didn't have time as well for a walk or any consequence, so my step total today will be a bit lower than it has been recently, which is a good thing as it is very humid and air quality isnt the best today so for a change I was fairly sensible.

This is being hosted by Greenpeace and a couple of other organizations to highlight the risk to animals in the ocean from all the trash we are polluting the oceans with and I thought it was worth sharing

Here is another shot of it from another angle, as you can see its of a whale and some turtles covered in fishing nets plastic and other waste found in the ocean

Now I warn you the interest even in this post may drop from here just some random but common sights while walking the streets of NYC

Starting with this two boxes used but the US Postal Service one is a storage box and the other a relay box, there are many of these spread around the city.

Not to be confused with a mail drop off box as shown next

Staying with boxes again these are spread all over the city as well boxes for the various fee papers and magazines that one can grab if they want, I do say they are all over the city but with people glued to their mobile devices and reading online I am ot sure how much use they get I cant remember the last time I saw someone actually taking one of these papers from these boxes.

I guess as I was taking photos this morning walking to the office i was in a box mode LOL as this next is kind of a box shape, A small ATM outside a little Deli which wasn’t open as yet, I am not sure why they are needed on just about every block or maybe two blocks there are banks with ATMS but i have notice a lot of delis with these little ATMS

And for my last shot Another sort of box, this one is a parking terminal where you can pay for raking in the area near it, I have never driven and parked in NYC so I am not sure how much it costs to park in these, but i know parking inthe underground car parks here is not cheap so I imagine this isnt cheap either
