A cheeky wee red Hobgoblin for Beer Saturday
Now that winter is approaching so is the need for a pickme up in the form of a pleasant beer or ale.
Well that is the official line that I am sticking to!
So with that in mind, when I go to shop at the supermarket now, I tend to pop in a cheeky couple of bags into my bag.
This was the turn for Ruby Beer.
It is one of my favourites and has a gorgeous taste!
Hobgoblin Ruby Red it really is ...
A Devilishly Rich & Fruity Gem
of a beer!
It also has one of my favourite bottle caps of all time!
What do you think of the hobgoblin, he looks more like a cheeky charming rascal to me!
The beer in the glass pose...
It does have a Ruby Red colour and a velvety texture as it flows down your throat!
Who brews Hobgoblin Ruby Red?
Answer ....
Wychwood Brewery was a brewery and pub chain based in Witney, Oxfordshire, England. Wychwood got bought by Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC)...
From what I can see they closed Wychwood Brewery last year and moved production to the massive Marston's brewery in Stoke...
This is what you see on the hobgoblin site and tells you sweet fa about where it is brwered or its history. That is pretty sad really...
I must admit I do love the graphics and the cheeky wee hobgoblin is quite cool looking!
What is Ruby red like
So Ruby Red is traditionally craft brewed with Chocolate & Crystal malts and a blend of Styrian, Goldings & Fuggles hops.
This produces a full-bodied, Ruby beer that delivers a delicious chocolate toffee malt flavour. Top that off with a moderate bitterness and overall fruitiness and you have the perfect beer for a mischievous character like me!
It is quite hard to capture the colour, but it really does have a rich ruby colour to it.
A liquid legend, this ruby-red gem is an epic blend of hops. Expect delicious toffee flavours and a full-bodied finish of figs, raisins and dates.
It’s mercilessly moreish, so consider yourself warned.
When you take a sip to your lips you are not disappointed. It is like having red velvet cake in a glass!
Food intermission
The ruby red was an accompaniment to pizza!
Mrs T said she sees a new pizza place when comes home on the bus and could we try it.
Well it was the perfect excuse for me to try out these ruby red beers from Hobgoblin!
We got a special, two pizzas and garlic cheese with free chips for a crackign good price!
Can you guess the two different pizza types?
This was my plate with the full monte plus the delicious Hobgoblin ruby red!
