After having some long exposure fun at the Christmas display and ride in Gore Park in downtown Hamilton Ont. I couldn't resist making a second trip to get more shots. (First photo set: @terrywayne/long-exposure-fun-at-christmas-in-the-park)
This time I also had my Mavic Mini 2 drone with me and had a blast shooting with it!
This was a very time consuming shoot because there was very few people going on the ride or even in the area. Which has been strange to me lately, downtown is usually quite busy (This was between 5:30 - 6:30pm during rush hour on a Monday). Especially in December. Any other year that I have done photos at this event there have been children and families lined up through the park to go on the ride (it is a unique experience to ride a Ferris wheel or a similar ride right in the middle of downtown buildings). It didn't take me long to figure out why this was, you can clearly see homeless camps in the drone photos. Right beside the entrance to the ride. Yes that's right the city is allowing homeless camps to be set up and used right beside the entrance to a Christmas ride for children in a shopping center/downtown. I can completely understand why no parent would want to exposure their children to that kind of a situation, and it really is too bad. A great Christmas event for kids that is free, being squandered by far left ideologs.
