Good Day Art Lovers!
My journey as a professional artist/painter continues with the painting above which I just concluded recently.
The painting is addressing the state of an average citizen of the Republic of Nigeria presently, there are so many vivid problems and their solutions aren't that far from affordable but the who to project this solution is never accountable.
So the question is......
As a citizen, what do you do? Shout? Cry? Wait to vote again?
I really do not see much that an average citizen in Nigeria could do than to sleep sometimes to safe sanity.
PROOFS OF OWNERSHIP!
As usual, I started with a pencil on the canvas, and I made sure I already had all the shapes I am interested in in the drawing already before proceeding with the blockin.
So, I blocked the figure with some burnt umber and burnt sienna, then using a shade of purple to block the short of the figure.
Though I blocked the figure, the pillow, the mat and the background with a bristle brush and I proceeded with the second layer on the figure with the smaller pallette knife I've got.
I added about two different layers to get to this stage of the painting and it was time to throw some of the colours on the figure to the background.
So, I threw some of the colours on the figure to the background to as not to have the figure and the background totally separated.
And that was how the beautiful painting was made!
