It really is amazing what cold fronts can do to those cloud formations and just how quickly they can develop right in front of our eyes. That was an interesting cloud find right over your home, you didn't even have to get into the car to get any fantastic shots!

Sorry to hear the fuel prices were going up, always best to fill the tank the day before when you know the hike is coming! Now finding those three Pied Crows was a lucky shot. I would have missed them altogether, but with that zoom you could really get a clear enough shot to make them out despite the long distance between you!

Crows really are amazing birds and you will see them out in the strong winds. They are also really smart, in studies they have been shown to be able to pick out one face in a crowd of a person they dislike and heckle them. Once you mess with a crow it doesn't forget and they will pester you forever! Best to make friends with them! There are some around here but never come around as there is a park not too far away and they are experts at digging through the garbage to find leftover human food. They must eat well!
