Hi everyone, I'm back today with my Sunday edition which also happens to be my second day as an Inleo premium member (I'm still figuring out those threads!) But it is also day number six of my Twelve Days of Christmas Wishlist with #silvergoldstackers community. Today the coin on the list is one I've been wanting to pick up this year but just haven't been able to yet. The 2023 Samoan Golden Eagle Two Dollar silver coin.

I really love the details on this coin, the eagles were engraved so well. The details in the feathers is remarkable work! This is one coin I definitely want, and so far on my list it's one that is surprisingly affordable. Right now I can pick up one on eBay for only $47 US, so this item on my Christmas list might actually come to fruition!
I have always loved eagle coins, the only thing better than the coins is to see them soaring in the great outdoors. Growing up we lived right next to a mountain and I would frequently see golden eagles soaring the thermals looking for their prey. I always dreamed what it must feel like to fly through the air so free! Truly majestic birds!
I have found some great photos to share with you of the golden eagle, have a look:
What a beautiful bird! The golden eagle is a large bird of prey that lives across the northern hemisphere around the world. They notably are "booted eagles" having feathers on their legs. Their wingspan can reach up to 8 feet (2.34 meters) and up to 40 inches (100 cm) long. They hunt using their sharp talons and prefer a diet of rabbits, marmots, and squirrels. They are a formidable predators! Another interesting fact is that they pair bond for years or for life which is common among eagles, that was something I really didn't know.
They like to nest high on cliffs unlike the bald eagle that tends to prefer trees. In a usual year they lay four eggs but only one or two survive, I couldn't find a good explanation as to why on that one. So any of you eagle experts please feel free to chime in! The newly fledged eagles tend to wander for the first 4-5 years until they are able to establish a territory of their own and begin breeding, starting the whole cycle over again.
The golden eagle has always been one of my favorite birds, and is probably why I decided to add this coin to my list. I have been doing a series on bird coins over the last several months, but I think this is the first time I really have covered a bird of prey. So this has been a lot of fun today!
An update on my Inleo journey, I increased my staked Leo to over 1K today, even though it isn't LPUD. It just felt like a good start in the right direction.
