We already took you to a lot of tourist spots here in the Philippines, especially in Cebu. Now let us take you on an international flight bound to another country here in Southeast Asia, Singapore šøš¬ : home of the famous Merlion (a mythical creature with the head of a lion and body of a fish), Marina Bay Sands and one of the richest - most highly urbanized country in Asia.
But those are not the places that weāll go in first. Let me, Jessa, take you to their famous zoo before that. Are you ready to see these animals and reminisce together with me? Letās go. š¤
ON OUR WAY TO SINGAPORE
My friends and I saw a seat sale pre-pandemic of a flight going to Singapore. We were amazed at how low the price of it thatās why I havenāt hesitated in booking a flight. Weāre 9 members in my college squad and only 3 of us decided to book, but in the end, only two of us pushed through. It would have been nice if we were complete, but anyway, the show must go on and I promised to myself that Iāll enjoy this trip no matter what. šŖ
Arrived at Changi Airport safely and went straight to the place of my cousin. One of the main reason why I pushed through with this trip too is because of my cousin. Sheās working at a public hospital in Singapore as a pharmacist. Our accommodation is free of charge because weāll be living in her room for the rest of our stay in SG. We were able to save a lot of money because of her. One of her perks too for her job is free pass to some amusement sites like the Singapore Zoo.
My cousin borrowed the IDs of her fellow workers so that we can also enter the zoo for free. Change into⦠we were able to enter the zoo for free thanks to my cousinās help. š
FINALLY, TO THE ZOOOOOO
From the place where weāre staying, we took a bus going to the zoo. There are two zoos in the area, one for land animals and one for the water ones. Theyāre just near each other but with different entrances.
We brought our own water bottles/ tumblers with us. Again, this is for us to save money hahaha. There are a lot of water refilling stations nearby ā for free. We also bought our own lunch boxes with the foods that we cooked in the morning before departing to the zoo. So that in case weāll suddenly get hungry, we will have something to eat hahaha. Thriftiness overload hahaha.
We were so amazed at the sight weāre seeing. So many animals that we might have never had the chance to see if we werenāt here. A lot of firsts for us. We walked around the zoo to take some pictures of the animals. From rhinoceros, monkeys, panda, tigers, zebra, to tapir. The animal that I looked forward to see even before then was the giraffe. But at the end of the day, it changed ā¤ā¤.
There is this vehicle/ cart service that you can ride to tour around the zoo but we decided to just walk and enjoy the view of the animals on our own pace.
NEVER GET HUNGRY INSIDE THE ZOO EVER AGAIN
I think this is the funniest part of my day in the zoo hahaha. So after walking for a while, our knees got tired and our stomachs rumbled dramatically. There is a restaurant nearby but we think that it will really cost us very much, the prices of their dishes there would surely be higher than outside. So we decided to open our food containers and eat our lunch. We sat at a vacant bench in front of the giraffe attraction. Iām now seeing the animal Iāve been longing to see for so long. UWU hahahaha.
We opened our lunch box while some other tourists pass us by. We are facing the road where the carts and other tour guides stop by to introduce the giraffe. We were about to put our spoonful of food to our mouth when suddenly they stopped in front of us and the tour guide started his talk. We were laughing at that time and the feeling of people looking at you while eating feels so uncomfortable and shameful hahaha. My friend kept on telling us to already pack up and leave because itās already embarrassing. Meanwhile, my disease of laughing so much that I canāt stop already kicked in. So I said to her that we shouldnāt mind them since we donāt know them anyway and they donāt know us ahahhahahaha. š Sheās going crazy and rattled-looking already, while me on the other hand, just canāt stop laughing hahahaha. So yeah, we stopped eating and kept our lunch boxes aside. We continued eating after the tour guide finished talking and left. Let us just be wary next time not to eat anywhere too (aside from being embarrassed of being seen eating) because other animals might grab the food from you or other circumstance that might put you and the animal in danger.
SEA LION SHOW
My favorite part of the day š.
We might already have known how intelligent these animals are. Iāve seen it up close and personal ā¤. We went to the show of a sea lion and a bird. We were so amazed at how bright they actually are. We were so happy seeing the tricks the trainer is asking the animals to do. Thereās this trick where he threw his waterproof wristwatch to the water and after a while, the sea lion fetched it and gave it back. Woooow. I really loved it. Because of this, the Sea Lions bagged the crown as my favorite animal ever āØ.
There are other shows to watch like that of the Elephantās, but sad to say, we donāt have all day and we still have a lot to go. Next time Iāll visit here, I will go watch all of these shows hahaha.
WATER ZONE
After the sea lion show, we went to see the rest of the water animals. We rode a water boat for the tour around Singapore Zoo. On the map, thereās this Amazon Quest in which weāve been to. We continued touring around the zoo to see the rest of the water animals. Like that of the land animals, there are also shows here in which⦠we canāt watch too because of time restrictions hahaha.
Even if we were so tired after, it was all worth it.
I was jealous of my momās adventure here back when she was in high school. She kept on making me hear stories about this zoo and that it was so fascinating to be in here.
Even if youāre a kid, an adult or a senior, youāll surely enjoy this.
SNEAK PEAK
Watch out for our next posts bringing you to other tourist destinations weāve been to in Singapore (e.g. Merlion, Universal Studios, etc.) for our 3 Days and 2 Nights DIY stay there.
See you. š
THE GOOD B.I. is a group of 4 employees-friends from Cebu City wanting to share their adventures and random ideas with everyone. The groupās future stories to tell will be so vast and diverse. Imagine having four brains to share different ideas and might end up in a disagreement. A feat that others might be so fearful to do, but they believe that it is what will make their posts more exceptional and remarkable.
