I sometimes fly over the internet and see some interesting things, but recently I spotted something gigantic.
An entire country that had once apparently existed on this planet-- covering most of what is now Russia and China and well beyond-- a country that is hardly mentioned in history these days, for some reason; Tartaria
The country of Tartary was something I'd never seen or even heard of, and it was Max Igan ( ) who first brought it to my attention through some of his recent (Dec. 2018-ish) crowhouse utube videos.
In these videos, Mr. Igan asks if the Tartarian empire could have stretched into the Americas, to Australia and beyond, and if Tartary was the civilization that was incorporating the technologies which allowed the building of some of the world's most prominent and unexplained megalithic structures. Max asks some really good questions.
Looking at the size of Tartary on the old maps, it's natural to wonder what could have happened to this empire, since it was obviously a very real, very big place once upon a time, not so long ago.
Tartaria on Old Maps
I was happy to find a fair selection of maps that I could share here from Wikimedia Commons, if you'd like to zoom in on the images that are seen here, most of these were found under the search 'tartary, maps'.

It was called Tartary on some old maps, and Tartaria on others, and while I'll admit that most of Earth's history is new to me, I'm always intrigued if it seems like something is being deliberately hidden or occulted away from sight.
It's only been a handful of people who have written the biggest chapters in the history of our planet, a lot has been left out. Much of the history that we are taught to repeat is intentionally wrong, so that we don't know our own planet's true history, and even recent events are often twisted in obfuscation so that they are remembered incorrectly, or forgotten as needed.
Many things are omitted from the history books because they are too boring, but when a large country is written out of history so intentionally, with no explanation, it gets my attention.
What Happened, And How Long Ago Did Tartary Vanish?
According to the 1979 Webster's Dictionary, there's no such place as Tartary or Tartaria, unless we accept the word Tartarus, which according to Webster is described as being a place in Hades reserved for the worst of offenders.
Webster had to admit that tartar sauce was a thing, and also defines the word tartar as 'a native or inhabitant of Tatary' but then adds, 'a person of ill or violent temper', and one that proves to be unexpectedly formidable as alternative definitions. Once it gets to tartar on teeth causing decay, it becomes clear that the word is not doing well in the English language.
Did the Tartarians do something terrible, an event that nobody wants to remember? Wouldn't the rest of the world be boasting their victory over an evil empire, if Tartary was so bad? Or was it the other way around; did something terrible happen to the people of Tartary, something so terrible that nobody wants to admit that their own ancestors might have committed an unspeakable genocide?
I guess we don't know that yet, because history has been heavily edited over the centuries, and the official narrative hardly matches the evidence that is left behind.
I'll have to fly over the internet a few more times, maybe land somewhere in the lost land of Tartary, see what I can find there.
