DINH CAU TEMPLE
When I researched this temple, I learned that it's around 300 years old. What's unique about this temple is its location on a rock, making it a kind of clifftop temple. To reach the temple, visitors must climb a flight of steps and pass through an arched gate with the words "Dinh Cau Phu Quoc" written in red and adorned with artistic carvings. You can even see that this semicircular gate is supported by two large rocks on the left and right.
This is both the main entrance and the back of the temple. How is that possible? Well, because the front faces the sea and there's no access from there.
Once through the gate, you'll be greeted by a back wall with beautiful nature-themed carvings. If you zoom in, you'll see gold fish statues carved along the edge of the roof. Some are dragons, others are fish. This is indeed a coastal area, and many locals, especially fishermen, pray at this temple.
I had to walk around to the right to reach the front of the building. I found a mural depicting the deities. I examined each mural one by one. It turned out to be a story of eight deities crossing the sea, and what was unique was that the objects in their hands were said to be sacred objects used to help them cross the ocean. Wow... the more I learned, the more amazed I became.
And when I reached the front, I saw someone praying, concentrating on the incense sticks in their hands. They were praying, offering praise and worship to their ancestors and deities.
In the front area, there was a fairly spacious seating area. Tables and long chairs, surrounded by a concrete fence. It would have been beautiful from below, but it was so hot that I didn't plan on going down and exploring. That concludes my story about this beautiful temple. See you next time.
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
