Good day Hiveians!

That is Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt
This post is just my own take on the whole Polycub thing. I am not against Polycub or Cub as I own some, nor do I want to come across as being too harsh on the team. They really rock! It's one of the best communities we got here on Hive. With that being said I just want to ramble a bit :)
I never bought the whole PolyCub hype, but that's probably because I got all excited for CUB last year and saw it drop and drop. Oh yeah, and drop! CUB got airdropped to Hive users last year and everyone got excited and hyped. It was at a time when Leo was trading at $1 and it seemed that this community was going to leave Hive behind. But then we got the airdrop and I think many weren't amazed after it as the airdrop quantity was much less than anticipated. Most Leo hodlers only got probably 10-30 cub in that airdrop which wasn't bad at a price of $14. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about someone giving me free money; so thanks again Leo team! I guess most just expected to get a bit more, but that's fine.
What is not fine, is that CUB crashed to now ~20 cents. That is a 98% drop. Not many tokens/coins do that. So that must give some sort of award :D I am not blaming the team, of course the "paper hands" are to blame and the ones wanting to make a quick buck. But everyone has a right to sell when they want and so they are actually only to blame for making the price crashing, not for their decision to sell. But that's how the market works, and turns out they were pretty smart in hindsight.
The thing I want to address here, is the hype around these things. I am mean sure, everybody has to hype their projects and get people excited for what they are doing. CUB certainly qualified for that. It took the team a lot of resources to make it go live. But at the end, I don't really remember seeing posts taking about the risks. Nobody talked about the possibility of a 98% price drop in a bull market. With PolyCub I saw the same thing. We got dozens of posts talking about how great PolyCub is, but not one post talked about risks.
Obviously we are just 1 week into the airdrop and even if the price crashed from ~$4 to now about 77cents (which is already a 80% correction-ouch!) there is a lot of potential. Don't get me wrong I see how polycub is different to cub, but perhaps there should have been posts about how this was very likely to happen. I guess I should have made a post about it myself, but I was a bit busy. The obvious strategy for these kinds of drops and new launches is to wait until the dust settles a bit. Now is actually a great entry time. I still think that Polycub could go to ~40 cents (based on what I saw for cub), but buying CUB is a no brainer right now. In fact I just picked up 3,700 CUB which apparently gives me an airdrop of about 321 Polycub. The value of that exceeds the value of the cub purchased, so that looks pretty good. Obviously I should also stake that Polycub to max the rewards.
Like the team says, set it and forget it is the strategy here. PolyCub does seem to have a lot of potential and the team developing it has shown that it has a lot of dedication!
So my posts cumulates in this: don't get taken up by the hype of just about any project unless you are in for the long term. And I really do mean the long term (like 2-3 years+). I wonder if CUB will ever go to $1 again. And I wonder how many will actually get a positive return on their CUB investment.
As a general reminder: Please keep in mind that none of this is official investment advice! Crypto trading entails a great deal of risk; never spend money that you can't afford to lose!
