While reading your article, I realized something. For the first 22 years of my life, communism ruled my country. People couldn't make bad financial decisions because they couldn't make almost any decisions. The regime decided everything for them.
Then came change. People gained freedom. Including the freedom to make mistakes. And many made truly enormous mistakes.
Judging by the results of today's elections in our country, I would say that many people miss the days of slavery, when someone else did their thinking for them and did not allow them to make mistakes freely. I don´t miss those days.
