I just finished reading this fun news piece about a lucky old lady that got a really, really cool gift from her father 60 years ago and she is about to put it in auction for an easy 69x profit:
Elderly Oklahoma Womanβs Gift Bag Of Silver Half-Dollars May Be Worth $100K+
Here is a photo of the actual bag
What a beauty! πππ
Now, there are two great things about this bag! Actually, three!
First, these coins are made of silver which means their melt value is much, much more then the face value! I did some math, and with today's spot, those 1000$ dollars are actually worth about 18 $ k! So there's a 18x already!
The second is how they are "fresh" out of the mint, which makes them even more valuable, up to 50 $ a fucking piece π€―
And of course the whole novelty that comes with owning sealed bank bag, which features the mintβs original stitching along with an American Airlines tag dated April 20, 1967 from back when it was shipped to Oklahoma to the father of the woman:
With all these three in mind, the bag will be put in auction on July 27, 2023 with a starting price $69,000. Damnnnnn! And she will probably get a lot more then that!
The funny thing is the father of the old woman, a dentist from Denver, had actually bought 4 bags, one for every kid. But she was the only one to HOLD after all this time! And now she will have the chance to be handsomely rewarded for her patience!
I wish my kids do the same when they inherit my shit, instead of hookers and cocaine π
TL;DR: Woman in Oklahoma is about to put a bag of silver half-dollars, gifted to her by her father 60 years ago, up for auction. Original price was 1000 $ and she will probably end up doing at least a 69x ππ
