"Life's Not A Joyful Ride"
Are you easily sweep away by the tide?
Are you the type to easily lose your way?
Life is a struggle and not a joyful ride
You're beliefs, is it easily cast aside?
The price of success are you willing to pay?
Or, are you easily sweep away by the tide?
To keep struggling or to run away and hide
On which side are you going stay?
Life is a struggle and not a joyful ride
Open your eyes and see how wide
The path that'll make you astray
Are you easily sweep away by the tide?
The real world will offer no guide
Steel your heart, don't let it sway
Life is a struggle and not a joyful ride
Success resides on your every stride
Just don't let pride get on the way
Try not to get sweep away by the tides
Life is a struggle and not a joyful ride
What is a Villanelle?
A villanelle (also known as villanesque) is a nineteen-line poetic form consisting of five tercets followed by a quatrain. There are two refrains and two repeating rhymes, with the first and third line of the first tercet repeated alternately until the last stanza, which includes both repeated lines. The villanelle is an example of a fixed verse form. The word derives from Latin, then Italian, and is related to the initial subject of the form being the pastoral.
