I'm taking you along with me as I create a new card deck for myself. I will create it with an American Indian theme as I did once before. What is Lenormand? - check out my previous article.
Once again, I am skipping a card due to issues of trying to work out Native American Indian symbology for something (in this case, I am looking for a symbol for "troubles" and "little worries") - For now, though I am continuing with this series, a month after coming back from my trip which interrupted the series in the first place.
Card 24 - Swans
This is another one which needed some re-interpretation. When looking for a symbol that seemed to represent the Hearts of the original Lenormand deck, I finally settled on the Swans - which tend to mate for life. In the tribes, swans are often a young bride, so also symbolize harmony and peace in the home - the things that we are looking for (I hope) when looking for a mate.
When we think of the HEARTS, we tend to think of:
- love & passion
- following the desires of your heart
- harmony and eternity
When we look at the SWANS, we re-emphasize these things, which seems to indicate that I have the right symbol for today's card.
For more information on what this card means, check out Lenormand1's interpretation - for combining the Swan (Heart) with any other card, check out the site: Learn Lenormand
For my new card, For my new card, I hit Google Images search, looking for something with CC0 (Creative Commons 0) licensing meaning that I don't always have to remember to credit someone - essential if I were to start doing paid readings with these cards.
I also had to find out which traditional playing card is associated with this card. So, here is my result:

I couldn't find anything that included both swans and Native American Indians, so I had to put it together myself. I started with the mute swans, then added the couple (probably done in DAZ or Poser) to the foreground.
I really like the result.
