I'm taking you along with me as I create a new card deck for myself. I will create it with an American Indian theme as I did once before. What is Lenormand? - check out my previous article.
Card 30 - FLUTE
This is another card that had to evolve.
The original card is the lily, but that didn't seem very appropriate for this Native American Indian deck.
But as I was looking for pictures last week or before, I came across a picture of a Native playing a traditional flute. As I thought about it, I realized it was pretty much perfect for today's card.
The lily stands for things such as beauty and elegance, but something that is transitory. It also speaks of magic and enchantment, sexual infatuation, older age, but also of rewards.
To me, these things speak equally for the flute.
So, when we think of the FLUTE, we think of:
- Patrons and government assistance, appropriate work for hard work
- Respect, attention, spotlight (which will one day move on again.)
- Beauty and elegance, evening enchantment
- A careful coolness of one who understands that success is temporary.
- Temporary sexual attraction/infatuation even if it may be very passionate. There might even be impotence (temporary.)
- Things are temporary. The music ends and you will eventually have loss.

For my new card, For my new card, I hit Google Images search, looking for something with CC0 (Creative Commons 0) licensing meaning that I don't always have to remember to credit someone - essential if I were to start doing paid readings with these cards.
I also had to find out which traditional playing card is associated with this card. So, here is my result:

To me, this man playing flute epitomizes this card like few individuals were able to represent their card. This man sort of pulls together the original meaning into the new version with the flute. I can see him being all the things I mentioned before, quite easily.
Simple image, but it seems to be perfect for this card.
