Politische Postings sollen nicht mehr dem erweiterten Freundeskreis (Friends of Friends) und anderen Usern "empfohlen" werden, d.h. im "For you"-Feed angezeigt werden.
Die direkten Follower sollen die Posts noch sehen können, aber sie verlieren damit an Reichweite und es wird damit schwieriger, dass politische Postings viral gehen.
Problematisch ist auch, was Meta als "politischen Content" definiert. Was ist wenn zum Beispiel jemand etwas über die Klimakleber, die SEC oder Krypto schreibt, ist dass dann auch politischer Content? Oder sind nur Posts zu Trump und Biden "politisch"?
Sicher kein Zufall, dass das gerade jetzt vor den US-Wahlen passiert, dass Meta hinter den Kulissen die Debatte auf Social Media beeinflussen möchte.
Auf Instagram sehe ich weniger ein Problem, da die meisten User dort ohnehin nur Selfies von sich posten, aber für Threads könnte es nach hinten los gehen.
Ist nicht der ganze Sinn von Twitter-ähnlichen Plattformen, dass man politisch relevante Themen diskutieren kann? Wenn das jetzt künstlich und auf intransparente Weise eingeschränkt wird, warum soll man dann überhaupt noch irgendetwas auf Threads posten?
Creator, die von Twitter/X auf Threads gewechselt sind, sind verärgert und bereuen mittlerweile den Wechsel 😂
ps. Es soll eine Option geben, dass User politische Postings wieder aktivieren können, aber standardmäßig soll die Reichweite limitiert werden.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Könnte das für Threads nach hinten los gehen? Interessant auch, dass Facebook nicht erwähnt wird, vielleicht werden dort politische Posts bereits eingeschränkt?

Meta has announced that it will no longer "recommend" "political content" on Instagram and threads, which is practically equivalent to a shadow ban for the extended circle of friends, creators are annoyed, what is the point of threads at all if political posts are artificially restricted?
Political content should no longer be "recommended" to the extended circle of friends and other users, i.e. displayed in the "For you" feed.
Direct followers will still be able to see the posts, but they will lose reach and it will be more difficult for political posts to go viral.
What Meta defines as a "political content" is also problematic. For example, what if someone writes something about climate activists / vandals, the SEC or crypto, is that also political content? Or are only posts about Trump and Biden "political"?
It's certainly no coincidence that this is happening right now before the US elections, that Meta wants to influence the debate on social media by doing some trickery behind the scenes.
I see less of a problem on Instagram, as most users only post selfies of themselves there anyway, but for threads it could backfire.
Isn't the whole point of Twitter-like platforms that you can discuss politically relevant topics? If this is now artificially restricted in a non-transparent way, why post anything on Threads at all?
Creators who have switched from Twitter/X to Threads are annoyed and now regret the switch 😂
ps. There should be an option for users to reactivate political posts, but the range should be limited by default.
