Hoy les comparto mi visita a la rotonda El Indio, ubicada a la entrada de la ciudad de Cumaná, en la Avenida Universidad. Rinde homenaje a la tribu indígena que habitaba esta región antes de la llegada de los españoles.
La rotonda conecta la ciudad con una glorieta, y muy cerca de ella se encuentra otra importante escultura del héroe cumaná. Desde esta zona se puede apreciar la montaña, los hoteles de la playa en el sector San Luis, y en el centro de La Isla, hay varias plantas ornamentales y un jardín que recibe mantenimiento y cuidado constantes por parte de la Fundación Serviamsa, encargada del embellecimiento de la ciudad. Algunas de las plantas son bugambilias, palmeras, lirios, entre otras, que adornan esta importante vía.
La montaña que se ve al fondo forma parte de la Cordillera Costera Oriental, una hermosa cadena montañosa que se extiende por los estados de Sucre, Anzoátegui y Monagas. Desde esta importante vía, la ciudad tiene acceso a Puerto La Cruz y otras poblaciones del estado de Anzoátegui.

Today I'm sharing my visit to the El Indio roundabout, located at the entrance to the city of Cumaná on Avenida Universidad. This roundabout pays homage to the indigenous tribe that inhabited this region before the arrival of the Spanish.
The roundabout connects the city to a traffic circle, and very close to it is another important sculpture of the Cumaná hero. From this area, you can see the mountain, the hotels on the beach in the San Luis sector, and in the center of La Isla, there are several ornamental plants and a garden that receives constant maintenance and care from the Serviamsa Foundation, which is in charge of the city's beautification. Some of the plants are bougainvillea, palm trees, lilies, among others that adorn this important thoroughfare.
The mountain seen in the background is part of the eastern coastal mountain range, a beautiful mountain range that spans the states of Sucre, Anzoátegui, and Monagas. From this important thoroughfare, the city has access to Puerto La Cruz and other towns in the state of Anzoátegui.
La rotonda se ubica en el centro de la intersección. Desde la distancia, se aprecian las plantas, la fuente y las palmeras en el paseo central. A continuación, se observa una hilera de nenúfares y el panel azul que controla la fuente. La figura indígena se encuentra en el centro, flanqueada por esculturas de peces marrones. Continuing along the path, you can see part of the avenue on both sides and the plants that adorn this long walkway, or island, between the streets. Another phrase, "Heroic Cumaná," is located behind the fountain. In front of the fountain, you can see the indigenous figure holding a fish, a curious animal, and the gray pipes surrounding the figure.
Esta escultura es un símbolo muy importante para la ciudad. Originalmente se ubicaba en lo que hoy es el paso elevado Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho. Esta es la primera vez que veo esta rotonda de cerca, y he recorrido sus diferentes áreas, jardines y escaleras. Aunque he pasado por esta avenida varias veces, nunca me había detenido a observar con detenimiento esta hermosa escultura. Para acceder a ella, hay dos escaleras y luego una pasarela de hormigón ubicada en la parte delantera y trasera de la rotonda. Las escaleras y la pasarela destacan por su hermoso diseño, que combina rocas y cemento. También se puede ver el acceso al distrbuidor. This is the first time I've seen this roundabout up close, and I've taken a tour of its different areas, gardens, and staircases. Although I've passed by this avenue several times, I'd never stopped to take a closer look at this beautiful sculpture. To access it, there are two staircases and then a concrete walkway located at the front and back of the roundabout. The staircases and walkway stand out for their lovely design, combining rocks and cement. You can also see the access point for the interchange.
