Having not been back to my hometown for a long time, I've noticed a lot has changed. This is the feeling a traveler gets when they set foot back in their hometown, where everything feels so foreign. A place that was once so familiar, a place that, with your eyes closed and then opened in a random place, you would immediately recognize. But now, the entire journey seems so foreign. Even though I pass through those streets every day. I feel a little sad because now my hometown feels like a place I've just arrived. I don't recognize it anymore.
Like this place we stopped at. It's changed so much, it could be called a new building. I used to pass by this building twice a day without stopping even once. Now, in my entire life, I've stopped by here for the first time.
It's the Istoqomah Mosque, located on the Trans-Sumatra Highway in the Sei Dadap area of Kisaran.
Let's get it!
Istiqomah Mosque
As mentioned above, back in college, I passed this area twice a day. Once on my way to campus, and then on my way home. So, this place was familiar, yet strangely familiar, as this was my first time visiting it. I'd never visited before, as the campus was so close to home that I didn't feel the need to stop at a mosque to pray.
But this time, the situation was different. I was heading home after a long journey, and rather than waste time praying, we decided to stop for a moment at this mosque. At first, I didn't recognize it because it looked so different.
This mosque, called Istiqomah Mosque, is located on the main road leading to North Sumatra in Sei Dadap. It's a small mosque compared to the Grand Mosque in Kisaran, but its presence is quite captivating.
One thing that hasn't changed about this mosque is its expansive courtyard, which isn't used for anything else. It's simply a large courtyard, accommodating hundreds of worshippers during Eid or major celebrations. The mosque's surroundings also appear well-maintained and clean. The area is truly beautiful, and I truly enjoy being around this mosque.
And this is what's inside Istiqomah Mosque...
As with other mosques, the dome's niche always takes center stage. Looking up, I saw that the dome featured exquisite paintings. Furthermore, a large, opulent crystal chandelier added to the mosque's elegance.
The mosque was already deserted at that time. Usually, people visit this mosque around dusk and Maghrib prayer time. And sometimes, a mosque like this is very comfortable to be in. But unfortunately, I couldn't stay long because I was already missing home.
This was a unique journey, one where I visited a place I'd never been to in my life, even though I'd passed by it many times. Now, I felt like a stranger in a new place.
Hasta La Vistaa....

Hi, Halo, Annyeong, welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
