Hello, Worldmappers!!
Ready for the rest of our sparkling Christmas venture in the island of Guimaras?
If you loved the first part of my Paskwa sa Isla (Christmas on the Island) adventure, get ready because the creativity just keeps flowing!!
The different areas of Guimaras really went all out, turning their most famous tourist spots into the most adorable, lighted-up miniature villages..
It was a contest with 10 amazing entries and trust me, every single one was a winner!!
Here are the 10 famous Guimaras landmarks, shrunk down for our festive enjoyment!!
π The Wonders of Guimaras in Miniature
1. Sarcepa Floating Cottage πΆ
How cool is this?
They perfectly captured the charm of the Sarcepa Floating Cottage..
Itβs a little nipa hut floating over water, just like the real one!!
Look at the bamboo platform and the sheer curtains,, itβs inviting you to come and relax..
The fairy lights on the roof make it feel extra cozy..
They even put up little signs that make you feel like you're really out on the water!
2. Balaan Bukid Shrine π
This display felt very peaceful..
Itβs the miniature of Balaan Bukid (Holy Mountain)..
The centerpiece is that towering, bright, neon cross, a beacon of light just like the one on the mountain top!!
It's surrounded by a tiny, lush green landscape and a little white church..
It gives you that feeling of quiet reflection, especially at Christmas time..
3. Navalas Church βͺ (Oldest Church in Guimaras!)
The Navalas Church model was absolutely stunning..
The structure itself is covered in capiz shells, giving it a beautiful, iridescent sheen..
But the bright purple and pink lights bathing the whole display make it look incredibly majestic and festive..
It really shows off the historical beauty of the islandβs oldest church in a totally new light!!
4. Guisi Lighthouse Pathway π‘
We can see the giant lighthouse in the middle of the display..
It also shows the path to the Guisi Lighthouse..
Imagine walking along this curving, lighted path surrounded by tiny glowing palm trees,, it feels like stepping right into a tropical Christmas fairy tale!!
The little lights lining the walkway are so simple,, but they make the whole scene sparkle.. β¨
5. Guimaras Wind Farm
This is a tribute to Guimaras' source of clean energy,, the Windmill Farm!
The giant background screen showing the blue sky and the bright windmill really grabbed my attention..
Around the base, there are tiny houses and colorful trees, making it look like a little energy-producing Christmas village..
It was great to see them highlight the island's modern side..
6. Alobijod Beach Area ποΈ
Sun, sand and sparkling water,, even in miniature!!
The Alobijod Cove display made me wish I was relaxing on a hammock..
They used tiny grains of what looks like sand for the beach and created a perfectly blue water effect..
Complete with little bangkas (outrigger boats) floating peacefully and a row of nipa hut umbrellas, itβs a tiny slice of beach heaven..
Here's my previous trip to Alobijod Cove just for your reference on how it looks in person.. π π Lost in a "Cave": A Beach Day with Rocks, Crabs & Giggles ποΈ
7. Roca Encantada (Enchanted Rock) π°
The Roca Encantada is a famous vacation house built on a rock formation and its miniature was equally grand!!
It looked like a lovely little villa sitting right on the sea, outlined in bright, colorful Christmas lights..
The architectural details, the tiny white railing and the tropical greenery around it show off the beauty and elegance of this landmark..
8. Trappist Monastery
I also managed to snap pictures of the displays for Trappist Monastery.. a peaceful churchyard with a giant Christmas tree.. It also showed the statues of St. Bernard and St. Benedict..
Here's my previous post about Trappist Monastery π βοΈ Morning Glory: Finding Peace at the Trappist Monastery in Guimaras ποΈ
and now for the last 2 entries,,
the Mango Research Center
with signs mentioning "Paskwa sa Isla 2025" and a nice pathway..
along with Taklong Marine Research
this entries showcase the marine life being protected by the center..
Here's a post I made during my trip to Takling Island π βοΈ Island Hopping Paradise! Exploring the Stunning Taklong Island National Marine Reserve
these entries truly rounded out the incredible effort by everyone in Guimaras to showcase their island for Christmas.. π
What a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays!!
It wasn't just lights and decor,, it was a proud display of the whole island's heritage and beauty..
This Paskwa sa Isla event is definitely one for my memory book!! π
That's all for now.. The event is still going so I might post more activities..
Thank you so much for reading my post.. Have a wonderful day.. π
