The square is a great place to be visited, either during the day or at night, with the spectacular views of the church towers. Good restaurants and people from all over the world are part of this incredible place! The old town square is a historical and bustling place of life at the same time. Next to the historic buildings there are bars, restaurants and shops always full of people. Enter the middle age of stone with greatness and at the same time imperial narrowness. I would have liked to speak with the Czechs, friendly, but it was impossible, here I learned "pivo" (beer), everyone understands well.
In the old town there is the main square which is huge and with two wonderful baroque churches. It also has the important medieval clock that presents a spectacle at noon. A magical square. To be shot, but above all to be enjoyed sitting on the ground, in the late afternoon, with a take-away beer in hand. The only city that had no damage caused by World War II. There is a beautiful castle with an exclusive church, where the government receives representatives from other countries. Impossible to go to Prague and not visit the Old Town. However, it is important to say that it is always crowded with tourists (even in the low season). So do not think you will find an old and romantic city just for you. It bothered me a little about the high number of street performers. Not everyone was talented and some made a lot of noise, which is not interesting for who is dining for example. The restaurants are good, but the price of the meal out of there should be well over. Anyway, you can not go wrong, but go prepared for crowds.
It is the main square of the historic center, pretty and lively, the gathering of tourists Several interesting buildings, including the astronomical clock. On the other hand avoid the bars of the place, the prices are disproportionate, 3x more expensive than 2 streets further. among the most romantic squares I have ever visited. a mix of palaces and churches all concentrated in a single space that takes your breath away.
The city is very interesting, history, architecture being rescued and preserved, monuments. This area concentrates the largest architectural collection of Prague, with most of the monuments. One of the most beautiful squares I've ever visited in my life. I had already seen it on previous trips to Prague, but I do not think I would ever get back to it: from the Church of St. Nicholas to the Kinský Palace, from the Old Town Hall with its famous astronomical clock (which at regular intervals does " outdoor tour "always attracting hundreds of tourists) to the Church of St. Mary of Týn, whose facade is partially hidden by more modern but equally enchanting houses. Also worthy of mention are Romanesque and Gothic style houses. Still to remember, in the middle of the square, the monument dedicated to Jan Hus. Enchanting!
