In a country like Nigeria, malaria is very rampant. So rampant that there's 70% chance the parasite would be found in every malaria blood test you carry out. There's a lot of dirt and stagnant water so it's no surprise mosquitoes are first class citizens. There's always at least two mosquitoes in my room because they find their way in through the toilet window that was poorly built.
Now I think I'm coming down with malaria so I had to go get a preventive drug. I hate any antimalarial drug because they taste and smell so bad. The thought of it alone gives me nausea. I felt awkward asking for antimalarial at the pharmacy because I didn't want anyone looking at me with suspicious eyes thinking I have the Rona. I guess this is the same feeling people get when they ask for condoms or birth control pills.
Anyway, I got this tasty cupcake for less than $0.50 and the a bottle of Pepsi. I took them sometime after taking the drugs. Don't judge me, I was going to vomit after that drug. My head and joints still ache, my eyes feel like they're going to fall out but I hope I feel better in a couple of hours. How's your Sunday going?
