Finally... spring is here!
I like the cooler days, especially when it rains a little, because it’s a sign that summer will be milder, and there’s less risk of droughts or wildfires.
But this year, winter was particularly rainy, and Portugal was really hit by several storms, one of which caused a lot of damage in the center of the country, with roofs collapsing and infrastructure damaged, and unfortunately even loss of life, in addition to millions in accumulated losses for businesses and individuals.
But I’m not going to talk about that tragedy...
Two Sundays ago, the weather was so beautiful, the sky so clear, and the sun was peeking out, that I couldn’t resist inviting my mom to go for a short walk in a city park very close to my house.
The park has plenty of space to walk, and it isn’t so large that it’s difficult to cover in just over 40 minutes. Walking at a leisurely pace and enjoying the trees and the views.
On this day, since the air temperature was much more pleasant, it was even easy for my mother to walk comfortably.
Many families took advantage of that Sunday afternoon to breathe in some fresh air and let their skin soak up the blessed gift of the warm, long-awaited sunshine.
This park is in a great location. It’s situated in the historic part of Queluz, very close to the National Palace. It’s a popular area with unique and distinctive architecture.
The days are getting sunnier and sunnier. The temperatures are getting milder and milder. People are happier and more sociable. And on top of that, next Sunday, we’ll be switching to daylight saving time. The day when the clock moves forward an hour, which means that the late afternoon will be longer than it is now!
I wish you all a great week!
