Released for 2013 under the direction of Keitaro Motonag and the studios, AIC PLUS+, Production IMS, J.C.Staff and Geek Toys. It consists of 2 ovas and 2 movies, plus a spin off.
Based on the light novel by Kōshi Tachibana and is of genre action, science fiction fantasy, urban fantasy, romantic comedy, drama, schoolboy, ecchi, harem and mecha.
As for the plot…
The story takes us into events of the past, to explain the present where the whole plot develops, because 30 years ago a strange phenomenon known as “space earthquake” took place, which ended up killing millions and millions of people on earth. After this devastating event, earthquakes originated, but in smaller dimensions of gravity.
Following this beginning, we are brought to the present, introducing the protagonist Shido Itsuka, a high school student who lives with his adoptive sister Kotori; he witnesses one of these earthquakes, where in the middle of the event, he meets a girl. His sister tells him that she is one of the “spirits”, beings from other dimensions who, when they touch the earth, cause these disasters.
Kotori knows this because she is the captain of the fraxinus nava, belonging to a group called Ratastoskr, in charge of avoiding such disasters without killing the spirit. To do this, they require the help of Shido, who has the ability to seal their powers through a kiss, only if the spirit is in love with him, therefore, Kotori and her team organize appointments so that feelings arise in these beings and successfully carry out their mission.
From here on, Shido will be involved with many girls, dates and secrets that will be revealed little by little.
Personal opinion
Date a live is the typical harem where a group of girls share the same love interest, however, what brings us as a different element, or well, something I have not seen in other stories, is that the boy to seal the powers of them does it through a kiss, but, before he has to have a date, which is done in a way as if he were in a video game.
The truth is that I had my doubts whether to continue watching it, but the story was getting deeper and deeper and the dark mysteries surrounding the origin of these spirits was what made me end up watching it in the end. Shido is sometimes the typical indecisive protagonist, however, when the situation warrants it, he comes out ahead with unexpected actions.
Positive points…
The variety of characters does not saturate you with the same ones, but the relationships and introduction of each one is fluid. The design is acceptable, I just felt that in the third one the battles were a little worse.
Negative points…
It has a bit of the same and that, despite covering a large part of the novel, they did not do so with the end of the novel, even changing some parts of the story.

It is not an anime of another level, with a super innovative story, although it is entertaining in its own way, plus it presents us with a variety of characters with personalities that differ from each other quite marked, so you can get something dynamic in that sense.

Yo les daré mi opinión general de todo el anime.

Basado en la novela ligera de Kōshi Tachibana y es de genero acción, ciencia ficción fantástica, fantasía urbana, comedia romántica, drama, escolar, ecchi, harem y mecha.
En cuanto a la trama…
La historia nos adentra a sucesos del pasado, para explicar el presente donde se desarrolla toda la trama, pues 30 años atrás se llevo a cabo un fenómeno extraño conocido como “sismo espacial” que termino matando a millones y millones de personas en la tierra. Después de este devastador hecho, se originaron sismos, pero en menores dimensiones de gravedad.
Seguido de este inicio, nos traen al presente, introduciéndonos al protagonista Shido Itsuka, un joven de preparatoria quien vive con su hermana adoptiva Kotori; este presencia uno de esos sismos, donde en el centro del evento, se encuentra con una chica. Su hermana le cuenta que ella es uno de los “espíritus”, unos seres de otras dimensiones y que, al tocar tierra ocasionan estos desastres.
Kotori lo sabe porque es la capitana de la nava fraxinus, pertenecientes aun grupos llamados Ratastoskr, encargados de evitar dichos desastres sin matar al espíritu. Para ello, requieren de la ayuda de Shido, quien posee la habilidad de sellar sus poderes por medio de un beso, solo si el espíritu esta enamorado de él, por lo tanto, Kotori y su equipo organizan citas para que los sentimientos surjan en estos seres y llevar a cabo con éxito su misión.
A partir de aquí, Shido se verá involucrado con muchas chicas, citas y secretos que se irán revelando poco a poco.
Opinión personal
Date a live es el típico harem donde un grupo de chicas comparten un mismo interés amoroso, sin embargo, lo que nos trae como elemento diferente, o bueno, algo que no he visto en otras historias, es que el chico para sellar los poderes de ellas lo hace a través de un beso, pero, antes tiene que tener una cita, la cual lo hacen en forma como si estuviese en un videojuego.
La verdad tenia mis dudas si continuar viéndolo, pero, la historia se tornaba cada vez más profunda y los misterios oscuros que envolvía el origen de estos espíritus, fue lo que hizo que la terminara viendo al final. Shido a veces es el típico protagonista indeciso, no obstante, cuando la situación lo amerita, sale adelante con acciones inesperadas.
Puntos positivos…
La variedad de personajes que, no lo saturan de los mismos, sino que es fluido las relaciones e introducción de cada uno. El diseño es aceptable, solo que si sentí que en la tercera desmejoraron un poco la parte de las batallas.
Puntos negativos…
Tiene un poco de los mismos y que, a pesar de abarcar gran parte de la novela, no lo hicieron con el final de la misma, incluso cambiando algunas partes de la historia.
Puntaje que le doy…

No es un anime de otro nivel, con una historia super innovadora, aunque es entretenido a su manera, aunado que nos presenta una variedad de personajes con personalidades que difieren uno con otro bastante marcado, por lo que lo puedes conseguir algo dinámico en ese sentido.
