Si les soy sincera, cada vez quiero salir con menos cosas encima, quiero que mi cartera sea más pequeña, discreta y fácil de llevar. Por este motivo, quise realizar un Mini Porta Cosmético, que justo pudiera llevar lo mínimo para retocar mi maquillaje en la calle.

Así que hoy les traigo este Tutorial que consta de solo dos piezas, el fuelle que contiene el cierre y el fondo del Mini Porta Cosmético, y dos rectángulos para el cuerpo, muy fácil, incluso lo podrías realizar a mano en caso que no dispongas de máquina de coser.

To be honest, I'm increasingly looking to go out with less stuff. I want my purse to be smaller, more discreet, and easier to carry. For this reason, I wanted to make a Mini Cosmetic Bag, one that could carry just the bare minimum to touch up my makeup on the go.

So today I'm bringing you this tutorial, which consists of just two pieces: the gusset that holds the closure and the bottom of the Mini Cosmetic Bag, and two rectangles for the body. It's very easy, and you could even make it by hand if you don't have a sewing machine.

En una hoja dibujé el diseño que es un simple rectángulo al que le redondeé las esquinas, y marqué prácticamente la mitad que quería que fuese cierre, con esa medida conté el cierre, y dos tiras de loneta sky de 4cms aproximadamente para cada lado.

Enfrenté derecho con derecho de uno de los lados del cierre con una de las tiras de loneta, lo fijé con clips de presión.

On a piece of paper, I drew the design, a simple rectangle with rounded corners. I marked almost half of what I wanted to be the closure. I used that measurement to measure the closure and two strips of sky canvas, approximately 4 cm long, for each side.

I faced one side of the closure right sides together with one of the canvas strips and secured it with pressure clips.

Ahora si, por fin nuevamente un trabajito en la querida máquina de coser, paso costura recta en el borde externo. Luego, abro esa costura y repiso, quedando de la siguiente forma:

Now, finally, a little work on the beloved sewing machine again. I sew a straight stitch along the outer edge. Then, I open that seam and overlock it, leaving it as follows:

Realizo el mismo proceso en el otro extremo del cierre con la otra tira.
Coloco el slider en el cierre.
Corto dos tiras pequeñas de loneta sky, el grueso sería del ancho del cierre expuesto. Las doblo y coloco con clip de presión en cada extremo.

I do the same process on the other end of the zipper with the other strip.
I place the slider on the zipper.
I cut two small strips of sky canvas, the width of which would be the width of the exposed zipper. I fold them over and secure them with a snap clip at each end.

Paso costura recta en los extremos que preparé, teniendo mucho cuidado con la aguja y los dientes del cierre. Lo mejor es pasar lentamente para dar oportunidad de que la aguja baje con suavidad y pase a través de los dientes del cierre, en caso contrario corremos el riesgo que se nos parta la aguja en el trabajo.

Ahora corto una tira de más o menos el mismo largo del cierre, ya que recuerden que el cierre en el diseño del Mini Porta Cosmético abarcaba la mitad. Esta la pegaré con costura, solo en un extremo, así que lo preparo con los clips de presión.

I sew a straight stitch along the prepared ends, being very careful with the needle and the zipper teeth. It's best to do this slowly to give the needle a chance to smoothly descend and pass through the zipper teeth, otherwise, we risk breaking the needle.

Now I cut a strip roughly the same length as the zipper, as the zipper in the Mini Cosmetic Bag design was halfway down the length. I'll sew this one on just one end, so I'll prepare it with the snap clips.

Entonces, ambas piezas las uno con costura recta solo en uno de sus extremos, con esto queda preparado el llamado "fuelle" del bolsito.

Ahora, con la plantilla que preparé primero, corto dos veces en loneta sky.

Then, I join both pieces with a straight seam at only one end, creating the "gusset" of the bag.

Now, using the template I prepared first, I cut twice in the sky canvas.

Marco los centros de uno de los rectángulo y hago coincidir con el centro marcado del fuelle, del cierre específicamente. Uno con costura recta por todo el alrededor. Trato de realizar costuras limpias, y si es necesario se puede limpiar los bordes con la tijera, lo importante es que quede bien prolijo.

I mark the centers of one of the rectangles and match them with the marked center of the gusset, specifically the zipper. I use a straight stitch all the way around. I try to make clean seams, and if necessary, I can trim the edges with scissors; the important thing is to keep them neat.

Ahora por el cierre abierto, volteo el Mini Porta Cosmético porque ya está listo.

Now for the open closure, I turn the Mini Cosmetic Case over because it is ready.

Les digo que las dos tiras que coloqué en los extremos del cierre son demasiado importantes, ellas facilitan totalmente abrir y cerrar el cierre, es un detalle que si o si, siempre lo coloco en los bolsitos, bolsos, morrales, carteras o cartucheras.

I'd like to tell you that the two strips I placed at the ends of the zipper are incredibly important. They make opening and closing the zipper much easier. It's a detail I always add to my purses, bags, backpacks, wallets, or pencil cases.
