"Fabric dolls for my baby".

Hello community:

Today I share my experience of how to turn a pullover into baby dolls step by step. This is a simple proposal that we can make at home with clothes that we no longer use, to which we have great appreciation and we can reuse giving changes in its shape and utility.

Everything has its time:

Pending tasks are something very common in us humans. As rational beings we establish priorities in order to get organized in life and move forward. We leave things to do along the way and sometimes they are forgotten. All it takes is an incentive to get "what you haven't done yet" out of the dust.

Save to create later:

I'm one of those people who don't like to get rid of goods that can still be used, even if it's by changing their usefulness or simply recycling them. I fill myself with products to keep and say, "for something else it will serve later".

Moment of inspiration:

Creation comes to me in different ways depending on the circumstance, for example, me:
Sometimes I have the idea and tools, but I don't have the resources.
Sometimes I have the idea and the resources, but I lack the tools.
Most of the time I start from what I have and what I can achieve with it, that is, looking for the idea; as in the case I am telling you with this pullover of my son that I had saved because it has not been useful for him for a long time.

"Muñecos de tela para mi bebé".

Hoy comparto mi experiencia de cómo convertir un pullover en muñecos para bebés paso a paso. Se trata de una propuesta sencilla que podemos realizar en casa con prendas de vestir que ya no usemos, a las que tengamos gran aprecio y podamos reutilizar dando cambios en su forma y utilidad.

A todo le llega su hora:

Las tareas pendientes son algo muy común en nosotros, los humanos. Como seres racionales establecemos prioridades para lograr organizarnos en la vida y avanzar. Vamos dejando cosas por hacer en el camino y a veces quedan en el olvido. Sólo hace falta un incentivo para sacar del polvo "aquello que aún no has hecho".

Guardar para luego crear:

Soy de las personas que no les gusta deshacerse de los bienes que aún se le puede sacar provecho, aunque sea cambiando su utilidad o simplemente reciclándolo. Me lleno de productos a guardar y digo: "para algo más servirá luego".

Momento de la inspiración:

La creación me llega de formas diferentes según la circunstancia, por ejemplo, yo:
A veces tengo la idea y herramientas, pero no tengo los recursos.
A veces tengo la idea y los recursos, pero me faltan herramientas.
La mayoría de las veces parto de lo que tengo y qué puedo lograr con ello, es decir, buscando la idea; como es el caso que les comento con este pullover de mi hijo que tenía guardado porque hace tiempo no le sirve.

It occurred to me that I could turn these cute little puppies into a cushion for my son's bed, but at nine years old he doesn't like them. Now what he likes are action figures (kicks and punches), so the idea was not valid. Then I thought about my baby, who is eight months old, and how I could make something that would be useful for him, taking advantage of the fabric with these drawings. A cushion, as I had planned to do before, would be too big for her and would not be useful for her. It was then that it occurred to me to divide the fabric into three, making from it three cushions or fabric dolls, whatever you prefer to call them.

Preparation:

Before starting the making process you have to make sure you have everything you need.

Materials:
The fabric
The stuffing
Thread of similar color

Tools or utensils:
Pencil
Scissors
Needle or sewing machine

You can totally hand sew the stitching, but in "my Podolski 142" it is faster and more convenient to do so.

Se me ocurrió que estos tiernos cachorritos los podía convertir en un cojín para la cama de mi hijo, pero ya con nueve años no le gustan. Ahora lo que le gusta son los muñecos de acción (patadas y piñazos), así que no fue válida la idea. Pensé entonces en mi bebé que tiene ocho meses y en cómo podría hacer algo que le sirviera, aprovechando la tela con estos dibujos. Un cojín, como tenía pensado hacer anteriormente, sería muy grande para ella y no le sería de utilidad. Fue entonces que se me ocurrió dividir la tela en tres, haciendo de ello tres cojines o muñecos de tela, como prefieran llamarle.

Preparación:
Antes de iniciar el proceso de la confección hay que asegurarse de tener todo lo se necesita.

Materiales
La tela
El relleno
Hilo de color similar

Herramientas o utensilios:
Lápiz
Tijeras
Aguja o máquina de coser

Se puede hacer totalmente a mano la costura, pero en "mi Podolski 142" es más rápido y cómodo hacerlo.

Steps for the confection:

1. With the pullover spread out on a flat surface, I marked with a pencil at a distance of approximately one centimeter the outline of the drawings. I did not make a conventional figure, I just let myself be carried away by the irregularity of the dolls.
2. I sewed along these marks to keep the front and back of the pullover together, leaving an opening so that I could turn the piece inside out later.
3. I cut out the marked and stitched pieces, leaving a minimum of seam allowance (as these stitches were just to hold the two parts of the pullover together and keep them from moving). I could have done this part by turning the pullover inside out and using pins, but I felt it would be easier and faster this way.
4. I placed the piece on the reverse side, stretched the fabrics well and made a seam closer to the outline of the drawings, leaving an opening to turn the piece over again.
5. The rest of the fabric was also used to make the stuffing for these cushions. I made small cuts in the fabric so that they would fit correctly inside the cushions.
6. I stuffed the cushions and closed the openings with visible stitches, but they remain on the bottom of the dolls.
7. The next step was washing, drying and....
   Done!
   They could now be given to the smallest person in the house.

Pasos para la confección:

1. Con el pullover extendido sobre una superficie plana, marqué con un lápiz a una distancia aproximada de un centímetro el contorno de los dibujos. No hice una figura convencional, solo me dejé llevar por la irregularidad de los muñecos.
2. Cosí por estas marcaciones para mantener unidos la parte de alante y atrás del pullover, dejando una abertura para poder virar al revés la pieza posteriormente.
3. Recorté las piezas marcadas y cosidas, dejando un espacio mínimo a la costura (pues estas puntadas solo eran para mantener las dos partes del pullover juntas y lograr que no se movieran). Podía haber realizado esta parte poniendo el pullover al revés y con la ayuda de alfileres, pero sentí que me sería más fácil y rápido de esta forma.
4. Puse la pieza por el reverso, estiré bien las telas e hice una costura más cercana al contorno de los dibujos, dejando una abertura para voltear la pieza nuevamente.
5. El resto de la tela también sirvió para hacer el relleno de estos cojines. Hice cortes en la tela pequeños para que se puedan acomodar correctamente dentro de estas funditas.
6. Rellené los cojines y cerré las aberturas con puntadas visibles, pero que quedan en la parte de abajo de los muñecos.
7. Lo siguiente fue lavado, secado y...
   ¡Listo!
   Ya podían ser entregados a la personita más pequeña de la casa.

They are now part of her toy collection. They are ideal objects for a baby, because as they are made entirely of fabric there is no danger of getting hurt with them and they are easy to keep, as they are ready to be used again just by washing and drying them.

La entrega fue bien acogida y parece que tienen buen sabor, pues los probó todos una y otra vez.
Ahora forman parte de su colección de juguetes. Son objetos ideales para un bebé, pues como son de tela totalmente no tienen peligro de lastimarse con ellos y son de fácil conservación, pues con sólo lavarlos y secarlos ya están listos para su uso nuevamente.

In this post I wanted to try to show that it is possible to join "the useful to the pleasant", we just need a little creativity and desire to do something different with the intention of utility. There is no greater enjoyment than what is made with our own hands and can be used for the benefit of others and our own.

En este post quise tratar de demostrar que es posible unir "lo útil a lo agradable", solo necesitamos un poco de creatividad y deseos de hacer algo diferente con la intención de la utilidad. No hay mayor disfrute que lo que se hace con nuestras propias manos y puede ser empleado en beneficio de otros y del nuestro propio.
