[ESP-ING] The House of Arches

Uno piensa que conoce muchas cosas de su ciudad, pero esto no es así, había visto una publicidad de un lugar que quería ir pero no me había tomado el tiempo de asistir pues poco subo a la zona de las Delicias y si voy salgo a cosas puntuales, pues este lugar es retirado de mi hogar, pero está semana me tome un tiempo para visitarlo y conocer parte de su historia la cual me encantó y se que les gustará.

"La Casa de los Arcos", este lugar lleva aproximadamente más de un año de restaurada y abierta la público, está es una obra realizada por el general Juan Vicente Gómez en el año 1923 que fue que comenzó su construcción, es una obra arquitectónica emblemática de la época y representa o recuerda un poco a las glorietas de la plaza Bolívar de Maracay.

Esta obra fue realizada para el mismo general ya que vivía cerca en el castaño y aquí había era un pozo de agua o una fuente para surtirse, fuente de agua potable, la obra fue terminada en 1927, era algo muy emblemático, luego de tres años el presidente dio permiso de que los habitantes del sector pudieran tomar agua de la fuente ya que para la época no había mucho de donde surtir el agua. Esta historia fue contada por uno de los trabajadores y el director de la Casa de los arcos quienes amablemente nos atendieron.

Al entrar la obra es algo imponente, parece que fuera una casa inmensa de esas casas antiguas de la época, al entrar uno puede ver los hermosos jardines que hay en el centro, de lado y lado unas palmeras con agua alrededor, el patio central de cemento y a los lados la imponente jardineras verticales con más de 3000 especies de plantas diferentes, también existen espacios para sentarse, pequeños muebles donde puedes contemplar la magnífica estructura de la casa de los arcos.

Al entrar se puede ver la fuente la cual tiene como azulejos pero son cerámicas que representan la restauración tal cual la época, de hecho dejaron algunas viejas allí para que vieran que son iguales a las mismas, en la pileta o fuente hay cuatro leones de donde sale el agua, anteriormente solo había uno , pero estos cuatros representan los puntos cardinales, arriba de la fuente hay una escultura de una bailarina, esto si es algo nuevo que quisieron colocar.

Por otra parte la lámpara es algo hermoso que llama la atención, de noche debe ser más hermosas ya que de día deslumbra solo con verla, esta también es juega ya que anteriormente había de esas lámparas antiguas donde colocaban velas, pero está nueva es una obra maestra que llega cmuy cerca de la fuente.

La parte del techo está igual solo la restauraron con pintura a mano, y las puntas son de bronce las cuales son las originales, y la pintura de las paredes y parte de arriba también fue restaurada tal cual estaba antiguamente, de hecho los restauradores dejaron una parte sin pintar sino como estaba antiguamente, recrearon lo mismo en cada parte.

Aquí también a un lado hay una biblioteca y la parte de arriba existe un espacio que alquilan, dan clases de pintura canto, guitarra entre otros, a esa parte no fui pues estaba cerrado, en los alrededores también hay algunas obras pintorescas y en el final de las paredes unas hermosas pinturas una de mujer con jardín incluido que simula en cabello de la mismas, y del otro lado la de un hombre, todo está muy cuidado y provoca pasar un rato agradable sentados en la sombra para refrescarse, lamentablemente en ese momento los espacios de las sombras estaban ocupados, pero pude captar lo hermoso del lugar y es algo que disfrute mucho, para cuidar la casa de los arcos debe su nombre ya que allí hay muchos Arcos y por ello le colocaron así.

You think you know a lot about your city, but that's not the case. I had seen an advertisement for a place I wanted to visit, but I hadn't taken the time to go because I rarely go to the Delicias area, and when I do, it's for specific reasons, as this place is far from my home. But this week, I took the time to visit it and learn about its history, which I loved, and I know you will too.

"La Casa de los Arcos" (The House of Arches) has been restored and open to the public for over a year. It was built by General Juan Vicente Gómez in 1923 and is an emblematic architectural work of the period, somewhat reminiscent of the gazebos in Plaza Bolívar in Maracay.

This work was carried out for the general himself, as he lived nearby in Castaño and there was a water well or fountain here to supply him with drinking water. The work was completed in 1927 and was very emblematic. Three years later, the president gave permission for the inhabitants of the area to drink water from the fountain, as at that time there were not many places to get water. This story was told by one of the workers and the director of the Casa de los Arcos, who kindly attended to us.

Upon entering, the building is quite impressive. It looks like one of those huge old houses from that era. Inside, you can see the beautiful gardens in the center, with palm trees on either side surrounded by water. the central cement courtyard, and on either side, the impressive vertical planters with more than 3,000 different species of plants. There are also places to sit, small pieces of furniture where you can contemplate the magnificent structure of the house with its arches.

Upon entering, you can see the fountain, which has tiles that are actually ceramics representing the restoration as it was at the time. In fact, they left some old ones there so you can see that they are the same. In the pool or fountain, there are four lions from which the water flows. Previously, there was only one, but these four represent the cardinal points. Above the fountain, there is a sculpture of a dancer, which is something new that they wanted to add.

On the other hand, the lamp is something beautiful that catches the eye. At night it must be even more beautiful, since during the day it dazzles just by looking at it. This is also new, since previously there were those old lamps where they placed candles, but this new one is a masterpiece that comes very close to the fountain.

The ceiling is the same, they just restored it with hand-painted paint, and the tips are bronze, which are the originals. The paint on the walls and the upper part was also restored to its original state. In fact, the restorers left a part unpainted, just as it was before, recreating the same thing in each part.

There is also a library on one side, and the upper part is a space that is rented out for painting, singing, and guitar lessons, among other things. I didn't go to that part because it was closed. There are also some picturesque works in the surrounding area, and at the end of the walls there are some beautiful paintings, one of a woman with a garden that simulates her hair, and on the other side, one of a man. Everything is very well cared for and makes you want to spend a pleasant time sitting in the shade to cool off. Unfortunately, at that moment, the shaded areas were occupied, but I was able to capture the beauty of the place, which I enjoyed very much. The house of arches owes its name to the fact that there are many arches there, which is why they named it that.
