Hello everybody! Today I will continue my virtual tour of the halls and galleries of the Great Gatchina Palace. I will show you just one large room from different sides and tell you about it.
ONLINE REFERENCE: The Great Gatchina Palace is the central attraction of the Palace Park in Gatchina, located 45 km from St. Petersburg. Until the middle of the twentieth century, the palace museum was considered the largest among similar cultural and historical sites located in the vicinity of Leningrad. It was often called the "Suburban Hermitage" and even the "Castle of the Russian Hamlet". He experienced greatness, nationalization, destruction, oblivion and waited for a real rebirth. Today, the state-scale cultural heritage site, which has become one of the symbols of Gatchina, is included in the UNESCO list as a "monument associated with the historical center of St. Petersburg."
When my daughter and I walked down the Marble Staircase, we did not expect that something amazing and magnificent was waiting for us around the corner. This place turned out to be a large hall. This room is a large guest room.
The guide told us that this place does not look like this by chance, it is carefully thought out and planned. The first thing that catches the eye of visitors is a very cozy place. The fact is that the ceilings here do not have the usual height for palaces. Being in the guest hall, you involuntarily feel yourself inside a large, but homely mansion.
During the reign of the emperors, this place was always full of different guests, of course, if the emperors themselves did not have important state affairs at that time. But this rarely happened, so mostly the children or wives of high-ranking people stayed here.
There is a lot of entertainment in the room. There are grand pianos and a piano, a billiard table, a place for lunch and dinner, a swing and even a wooden roller coaster. I think music was often played here and various small talks were held in cozy armchairs.
Large supports inside the room are load-bearing. They are decorated in the form of massive columns, there are prints and watercolors in light frames. This place is stylized in the French style of the late 19th century.
Our walk through the halls of the palace does not end there, because the guide took us to the other wing of the building, where everything is also steeped in history. I'll show you a lot more interesting things tomorrow. And that's it for today!
Привет всем! Сегодня я продолжу свою виртуальную экскурсию по залам и галереям Большого Гатчинского дворца. Я покажу всего одно большое помещение с разных сторон и расскажу о нём.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Большой Гатчинский дворец является центральной достопримечательностью Дворцового парка в Гатчине, расположенного в 45 км от Санкт-Петербурга. До середины ХХ столетия дворец-музей считался крупнейшим среди аналогичных культурно-исторических объектов, находящихся в окрестностях Ленинграда. Его нередко называли «Пригородным Эрмитажем» и даже «Замком русского Гамлета». Он пережил величие, национализацию, разрушение, забвение и дождался настоящего возрождения. Сегодня объект культурного наследия государственного масштаба, ставший одним из символов Гатчины, включен в список Юнеско как «памятник, связанный с историческим центром Санкт-Петербурга».
Когда мы с дочкой прошли вниз по Мраморной лестнице, мы не ожидали, что за поворотом нас ожидает нечто удивительное и великолепное. Этим местом оказался большой зал. Данный зал является большой комнатой для гостей.
Гид рассказала нам, что это место не случайно выглядит таким, оно тщательно продумано и распланировано. Первое, что бросается в глаза посетителям, это очень уютное место. Дело в том, что здешние потолки не имеют обычной для дворцов высоты. Находясь в зале для гостей невольно ощущаешь себя внутри пусть и большого, но домашнего особняка.
Во времена правления императоров это место всегда было полно разных гостей, конечно если сами императоры не имели в это время важных государственных дел. Но так случалось редко, поэтому в основном здесь гостили дети или жёны высокопоставленных особ.
В комнате предусмотрено множество развлечений. Здесь сстоит рояли и пианино, есть бильярдный стол, место для приёма обедов и ужинов, качели и даже деревянная катальная горка. Думаю, здесь часто звучала музыка и велись разные светские беседы в уютных креслах.
Большие опоры внутри комнаты являются несущими. Они декорированы в виде массивных колонн, здесь развешены гравюры и акварели в лёгких рамках. Это место стилизованно под францусский стиль конца XIX века.
Наша прогулка по залам дворца на этом не заканчивается, потому что гид повела нас вдругое крыло здания, где также всё пропитано историей. Завтра я покажу вам ещё много всего интересного. А на сегодня у меня всё!
