So, I've done Postmates 4 days in a row so I can get a feel of what it is like to do this thing for a living.
For anyone that want to try this out, here is what I learned to maximize your earnings: There are not enough orders during the lunch period. Dinner rush is where it's at. Especially Friday night.
Be picky about which delivery route you pick. They do not pay you jack shit for your drive to the restaurant so wait for an order that is closest pickup location from where you are.
Here is the stats so far:
Miles driven: 356miles
Deliveries made: 25
Hours Worked: 21hrs 50mins
Revenue(With tips included): $160.86
So, as I did in the previous post, if I use the Federal standard rate of $0.58/mile to calculate the car maintenance cost (includes gas, insurance, registration, wear and tear), I would have a total expense of $206.48 ($0.58/mile*356miles).
Which would bring me to a net profit of....
-$45.62!!!
I really wish this thing was profitable because I did have fun doing this. It's kind of like playing Pokemon Go in a car. Gotta Pick them Up all!! ChronoGN caught an Arby's. Gotta pick up them Checkers next!! LOL
I'm just going to end this by saying this.
