I was already planning my little 3-month Steemit anniversary celebration with my top three guilty pleasures! Just recently, I sat down to enjoy a beautiful piece of seven-layer cake, and a glass of diet Coke with a generous dose of Kentucky Four Roses Bourbon, while I watched an episode of Big Brother!
Honest to Goodness Chocolate Cake!
We all deserve to celebrate and savor accomplishments, and I was so ready for that delicious chocolate cake!
When I was shopping at a local grocery store, I spied their luscious chocolate cakes in the bakery. They make old-fashioned yellow layer cake, sliced thin, with a layer of sweet, delectable chocolate icing between each layer, and extra on top.
They sell this baked confection by the slice, whole cake or half cake, so you can indulge in whichever size that will fix your level of sugar addiction.

Sugar Baby
Even before I was born, I learned to love sugar. My mother ate lots of it, so I enjoyed my sugar baths before I even made my first - anything!
Not sure which one of us actually caused the sugar appetite, but much to my delight, it was fed.
Many things have changed since those early pre-birth days, but one thing has remained constant. I love sugar - and chocolate!
Take Me Away!
When I got that cake home and opened the container, the aroma of fresh baked cake intertwined with chocolate frosting came wafting out to greet me. If you have ever been caught up in the sweet aura of a bakery that uses fresh ingredients and real sugar to bake their delights, you know the delightful scent.
From the first bite, the chocolate and sugar danced on my tongue, sending ripples up to the pleasure center of my brain. The party was on!
Happiness can be bought
and served on a plate!
God help me; I love chocolate cake!
Second Fiddle
What? Wait a minute! Is there anything else going on other than chocolate cake? Why yes. The diet Coke and the Kentucky Bourbon were a very nice accompaniment to the chocolate cake, if you’re a “sweetaholic” like I am. The bourbon actually made the diet Coke a little less sweet and quite tasty!
Honestly, I forgot all about Big Brother until after the cake was gone. I admit it, I like watching the show. It is a huge social psychology experiment, and it is fun to see what strangers will do when they are put together in a quirky, competitive environment.
Gone!
Did I say the cake was gone? Yes I did! You didn’t really expect me to save you any, did you?
