I chose to use a honey M&P soap base for this recipe.
Why?
Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it's great for acne treatment and prevention.
Aging: Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging.
Complexion boost: It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow.
Even if I hadn't used this particular honey soap base, I would have added organic honey to the recipe.

Turmeric Skin Benefits
Not only is turmeric a great anti-inflammatory, but it's also good for acne as a natural anti-bacterial and antiseptic. It contains curcumin, a bioactive component, which gives turmeric its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Nasturtium Flowers Skin Benefits
They are great as an ll-natural disinfectant cleansing; so adding these dried petals to the soap was a no-brainer.
They also have anti-fungal properties which is an added benefit for skin' especially skin prone to irritations and acne break-outs.

Recipe
- One-pound of Honey M&P soap base
- 2-tablespoons rubbing alcohol
- 5 capsules of Turmeric powder
- Nasturtium dried flower petals
- 1- teaspoon Tea Tree Oil
- Essential oils- Citrus/Orange and Lemon Grass- 10-15 drops of each
Melt M&P soap according to manufacturer's directions. Empty the turmeric capsules into small bowl and mix with the rubbing alcohol (this helps the turmeric powder from clumping). Once the soap has melted add the turmeric, Tea Tree oil, nasturtium flower petals and essential oils. Mix together then pour into prepared silicone mold.
To prepare mold, spray with rubbing alcohol.
Let set for a minimum of 24-hours. Although I usually let this recipe sit for at least 72-hours before cutting to cure. For some reason the added alcohol or the honey based soap needs a little more time to set up. I also allow the soap to cure for a few days before using.
