**As I continue adding, and replacing, certain pantry items, I wanted to share these with you.
Cacao Powder & Ceylon Ciinnamon
- Cacao Powder
- I'll be using this for adding to my breakfast cups of homemade yogurt
- For adding to my homemade granola (also sprinkled into my breakfast yogurt cups)
- For a nice rich flavor to my coffee
- For the times I'm in a mood for a smoothie (I have some peanut butter flavored protein powder this would be a nice addition to for added flavor)
- Ceylon Cinnamon
- Added to my hot tea or coffee for added (seasonal) flavor
- Flavoring in my Mediterranean dishes
- My first attempt soon for making some apple pie liquor
Potential added benefits from ceylon cinnamon according to WebMD
Ceylon cinnamon is sometimes taken by mouth for stomach upset, diarrhea, and gas. It is also used for diabetes, stimulating appetite, treating infections, and reducing body weight in patients who are overweight or obese.

- Xanthan Gum
This is a thickener or stabilizer that I plan to use when making breads (see below) and I will interchange this with the PSP.
It can also be used in my salad dressings (oil based ones) to keep the oil from separating.
So many of my keto-friendly like recipes call for using this when baking; so I wanted to have it on hand for when I am in the homestead kitchen.
- Psyllium Husk Powder
A good source of dietary fiber, especially soluble fiber and I will be using this when I make homemade breads. It helps retain moisture so the bread won't get too crumbly and help aid the bread in have the texture we want. These homemade bread recipes are being made in the attempt to lower our carb intake.
- Calcium Carbonate
While this is food grade, I have no plans on actually ingesting it. I will be using this next spring for my garden soil. Food grade in this instance means you can use on agricultural plants and have no ill side effects from eating the food grown in the soil you have the CC in.
