This wonderful shrub grows to about one meter in height and to my mind is one of the most beautiful shrubs to have in the garden.
In order for the shrub to really thrive, it needs a very warm location and then it will produce the gorgeous foliage of mottled pinks, greens and white.
It loses the leaves during winter here in the Cape, but comes back in the spring.
The root growth is vigorous and so you will often find new plants popping up near the main plant - this can be an easy way of obtaining a new plant by digging down and separating it from the main shrub.
Most garden centers stock this shrub and it is one that is well worth having.
It will also grow in a container, but make sure that the container is a large one to accommodate the roots.
